sorry everyone just got back in the office today, tomorrow we have to go to a funeral Mike's grandmoter passed yesterday.
Anyways Micahs, surgery went well, he woke up a little too fast, screamed his head off for about 20 min. did very well yesterday, the right ear is draining a little blood but that is normal for the first 3-5 days, he don't like loud noises right now, not use to it yet...
we were down there a total about 4 hours, the antisteoloist almost cancelled the surgery cause he didn't know what kind of heart murmur he had ( OMG i was freaking out some) anyways the ENT and the antisteologist decided that the surgery was mild enough to perform, the antisteologist still wasn't too happy. i had to sign more consent forms, which made me nervous as hell, let me tell you...

But i was home yesterday, and it was like a new little boy! I'm not use to talking normal tone with him, we always had to talk a little louder than normal, but so wonderful, we read books yesterday, i'm trying to correct the way he was hearing words right now, but i'm not rushing it, his speech classes start next week i can't wait... what a whole new world for him..
I took him for a walk last night, and he was just looking around, i know he is hearing all the sounds for the first time without that fluid in his ears...

Thanks everyone for your prayers.. i'll post some new pictures soon... :)

Thanks, i never want to go thru that again, anytime soon, such a long day, plus when Micah woke up it was very heart breaking to see him scream like that and there wasn't anything i could do..
But so far so good, hopefully he stays that way.
I just ordered him a Ear Band-it.. for when he goes swimming this summer, i don't know when that's going to be, we have to wait for his follow up apt. in August.. Looks like he's going to miss most of the summer... :( But he can hear again and that's what's important right now.

I'm so glad everything went well and that he is doing fine! I know what you mean about hearing. My husband is hearing impaired and when he got his first hearing aids many years ago, it was amazing to see him react to things he had never heard before!

I hope Micah continues to do well!

Diana, that was the most scariest thing i had to do in my lifetime!!!!

I know that it was scary for you to go through but the results are well worth it. We never like to have our kids go through stuff like that but we do it because we know that in the end they will be better.

Believe me, I've dealt with many trips to the ER for stitches. We've had several miscarriages, a couple of surgeries, and some other stuff that I'm not at liberty to talk about, and all of these within my own family. You're the Mom and you have to be there for your kids but it's not always easy. The worst I've dealt with was when my daughter almost bled to death after a miscarriage. I was the most scared that I've ever been.

I'm so glad that you're able to tell a difference in Micah's hearing. It really proves how much he needed the tubes in his ears.

Ditto, Diana.

When they have a rare blood type and they're lying there literally bleeding to death with no replacement supply available, you'll offer to do anything to save them. I know I offered to lay down next to my oldest daughter and let me tranfuse directly to her.

So sorry about Micah's grandmother Haley.

It's finally over with his ears though! It sounds like he's doing great. It must have been awful to go through, but it's done now.

Thanks everyone, the funeral went well, they released white doves at the end of it, it was so beautiful.
Micah is not doing well today, he had a fever since sunday morning, trying to keep it down, i'm going to call Gram today at lunch time to see what his temp is, i might be taking him back to the doctors today. :(

Haley, soooo glad that the surgery when well, soo sorry about the grandmother's passing and hope Micah's fever goes away quickly. You're getting a full dose of what it's like to be a mom right now. My heart goes out to you.

I wonder if the anesthiosologist's concerns about the heart murmur caused him/her to give Micah a lower dose of the anesthesia and that's why it wore off sooner. They may have been trying to protect Micah. It's a balancing game for them, I'm sure.

Huggs!!!! Hope each day gets better!!!

His immunity may be lower since the surgery. I hope it's just a passing thing. How are his ears?

His ears seem to be fine, the right one was draining some blood the first couple days but i called the ENT and they said that was normal, he's hearing so much better thank God, loud noises scare him but that's normal also, having a hard time washing his hair, he hates those ear plugs, It takes two of us to bath him at night, what a pain in the butt!
I just don't know if i should call the peditricians office again or call the ENT about his fever, i called the peditrician Sunday .. i'm going to call my MIL to see if she took his temp yet... hopefully it went down some :(

Seems like i can't win with him lately :( i thought that after his surgery i wouldn't be going to the doctors every week, this is crazy.. it's getting very expensive also, glad Mike is working alot of OT.. cause were about 300.00 in co-pays. and medicine so far since Nov. The money don't matter is just feel so bad for Micah, its a same when you baby grabs the siringe out of your hands and gives himself medicine.. :(
