Yesterday was Canada Day and it was nice to fall on a Wednesday to cut the work week in half :D Okay, a little more than half for me because I'm taking tomorrow off too!

I slept in and it felt really good! When we got up we decided to go check out the farmer's market, but there wasn't very much there since it was a holiday. There were only a few booths open and there was nothing I wanted :(

We went out to pick up some furniture I bought for my new place... well technically, Scott's mom bought it and I am paying her back this weekend :) I got a patio set for my deck at 60% off, and a really nice bathroom vanity including the sink for 60% off.... plus his mom gets another 20% off because she works there. Not a bad deal! All of my purchases together ended up being less than $200. Anyways, as we were leaving the store we noticed a fruit stand so we picked up some strawberries, blueberries, and nectarines. So delicious!

I put a chicken in the oven when we got home, and then we left to go for what was planned as a half hour motorbike ride. I have had nothing but problems with my bike so far this year. I've had to charge the battery already about 7 times. We got to the first stop sign and I hit my front brakes and nothing happened. Luckily my back brakes still work fine. Then I realized everytime I slowed down by hitting my brakes, my engine would just die. I would have to hit the starter at every stop light, or while I was still coasting if I just slowed down. We went to Scott's so he could change his clothes and I sat outside and the bike died and wouldn't start again. I was so upset. He went to his friend's house to get a charger and I went inside and cried just a little lol. I was so ready to sell it. I love my bike but my payments on it are $250/month for a new bike that doesn't even work!
Anyways, I ended up getting home 2 hours late but the chicken wasn't burning yet! We did have a delicious meal at least.

After supper we headed to his friend's house (where scott had driven my bike... he has a garage and everything needed to fix it!) and there were quite a few people there. It turns out Scott figured out why the engine was cutting out... he just turned up the setting for the idle, and it stopped dying!

Scott and I planned to watch what we could of the fireworks from my backyard. Somehow word got around that I was in an awesome location and everyone would just come over. I have never watched them from my yard, I didn't know if we could see anything, but most of all I just wanted to hang out with Scott and Layla in the yard for a night. When they got there the fireworks started and some of the girls complained that it was a bad location and they couldn't see anything. Everyone left to get closer, but of course left all their stuff. Everyone came back after the fireworks and drank beer and talked loudly... I kept telling scott "I have to go to bed... I have to work in the morning..." and I didn't invite anyone over! So eventually I just went inside alone. At midnight they thankfully all left. Scott explained I was trying to sleep.

So that was my holiday :) A little bad, a little good, but eventful either way!

It sounds like you got a really good deal on your furniture!!! I bet that you're so excited about moving in and fixing everything up!!

I'm glad that your motorcyle was an easy fix. It's too bad that you had so much trouble with it before you found out that it was the idle that needed adjusting. That still doesn't explain why you're going through batteries. You may still need to figure that one out.

Sorry that your friends invited themselves over. At least they left at midnight. It's one of those live and learn experiences.

So, Happy Canada Day!!!! Enjoy your other day off too!!!!

Thanks Diana! I am so excited to do stuff to my new place :D I just found out I'm for sure getting company just a week after I get possession  My best friend and her new husband are coming to visit for a weekend. He's never been to my city before! So now I think I am going to use a week of holidays the first week I move in so I can have everything done and comfortable for my guests!
And I think I will enjoy tomorrow too :) We are going to Scott's parents' house and I'm really hopeful that this will be way better than my last experiences. They have a pool built into their deck, and Scott will be helping his sister and brother-in-law build a fence at their place, so it will be lots of outside time. I am also taking Layla, and we bought her a little life jacket so she can go in the pool with us :D When Scott told his mom yesterday she was like "Oh puppy can go swimming too??" and Scott said "Well she's going to" lol we'll see how she does.
I think his mom is excited for me to come and have a fresh start again. He told her I had pole dancing classes tonight  lol and I wasn't sure if I'd be taking the day off tomorrow. She was like "Oh I'll tell Rob you can't start on the fence until Saturday if Lindsey can come with you Friday night!" so that was very nice. I think she is making an effort, so I am willing to make an effort too! I can't believe Scott told her I was taking pole dancing classes instead of just saying "she's going to the gym" or something LOL but at least she didn't say anything about it :D

It does sound like Scott's Mom is trying. Hopefully things will go better this time and you can become friends. As for Scott, you need to tell him that there's some things that his Mother just doesn't need to know!!!!
