Dae Lynn and Damon came out this morning to talk to Glen and I. As soon as they walked into the door Karlie shouted out "We're going to have a baby!!!" We're so excited!! It's been 7 years since we've had a baby in the family and we're looking forward to having another one!!! Dae Lynn's not sure how far along she is because her periods are very irregular. Her last one was in December so we'll have to wait for a sonogram to find out when she's due. She always figured that when she was ready to have a baby that it would be hard to get pregnant because of her periods but I guess that God had other plans for her!!!! Wow!!! A new baby.......I'm so ready!!!!

Thanks everyone. I am excited! I always love having a new little one to cuddle and I can't wait to start shopping for her/him!!!

When Dae Lynn and Damon were here Glen made a comment about the baby not needing everything new and Dae Lynn agreed with him. Then Glen pointed out that he was talking to ME!!! He was joking but he knows me well!!!

I asked Dae Lynn about morning sickness yesterday when she told me and she said that she'd been queasy. This morning was a different story! She was in the bathroom sick several times this morning. I'm sorry that she's sick but that's a really good sign that her pregnancy is going good.

Betsi, we can be expectant grandmas together!!! I think that will be fun!!!

Dae Lynn's really having problems with morning sickness this morning. She called and said that she was in the bathroom every 5 to 10 minutes. The doctor has called in a prescription but some prayers would be appreciated.

On a funny note, Damon said that Karlie wasn't helping anything because she's pretending to be sick too!!!! I can just picture her beside Dae Lynn gagging!!!!

Dae Lynn was so sick this morning that the doctor finally called in a prescription for the nausea. She was much better but still had her moments of running to the bathroom. The doctor wanted her to have a sonogram (I think to see if there was the possiblity of twins) and I'm glad to report that there's only one baby. She is about 5 weeks 5 days along and due around March 6-7. The baby was so very tiny but if you looked closely you could see the flutter of his/her heart. How exciting!!!!

Diana,

What wonderful news! You will be in sweet baby bliss! I am sorry poor Dae Lynn
is having morning sickness. I hope her medicine works fast!

Karlie is so cute with her morning sickness too. She will be a great big sister.

I am so happy that we get to share these pregnancies with both you and Betsy.

How long does morning sickness last?

DianaB
07-10-2009, 03:58 PM
On me it usually lasted until I was about 5 months along so she's got a ways to go. Poor girl.

She's hardly eating because nothing sounds good right now except ham sandwiches and a few other things. She knows that she has to eat though. As I said, Poor girl!!

I picked up some baby sleepers this morning at a garage sale that are all yellow or generic colors. I also found some maternity clothes in Dae Lynn's size. She was pretty excited about those. Yes, I'll probably have this baby well outfitted by the time it gets here!!!

Congradulations! :) How exciting. My sister is due in November with her first baby, she has been pretty sick and that started very early on. She is a labor and delivery nurse and is only working a few more weeks. Ow exciting, I love babies and we haven't had a baby in the family since my other sister had my nephew and he is 7 years old . :)

Awwww, hope the morning sickness goes away very soon!!! I had it for a while with both my girls. I kept saltine crackers by the bed and found that if I munched on a few of them before getting up, it helped significantly. My employer at the time, or rather my boss, cut no slack. I had to be there every day with no excuses. I was the first one in his department to have a baby in several years. He actually gave me a lower performance rating the year I had Karen because I had taken off for maternity leave and wasn't there to do my job, and someone else had to do it for me. What a jerk. Today they wouldn't get away with it, but that was 24 years ago.

So hope Dae Lynn is in a good understanding work situation!!!

Dae Lynn works at a pharmacy and they've been very understanding. Matter of fact she's going in late this morning because she's not feeling well. They've been really good to her about all of this even though they're a little short handed with people on vacations.

I'm glad she's feeling better. I'm sure this heat isn't helping any.

There's a couple down the road from us having SIX. She's about 20 weeks and has been in the hospital on bedrest for a couple weeks. They have a website: stanseljourney.com. Several things about their story bothers me, but I'm trying not to be too judgmental.
