What are your plans for the weekend?

This is my only weekend at home until moving weekend, so I will be PACKING! So far all I have packed is books and DVDs. Hopefully I can make a good start on everything else. I also want to go garage saling and see if I can find some good deals on stuff for my new place :) Yesterday, Scott bought a gorgeous papasan chair for my place, second hand from someone who was selling it for $75. I was looking for a good reading chair, and now I've got it!

And I'm going to push for some extra time to enjoy the sunshine and enjoy my last days of having a yard!

It sounds like you have a busy weekend!!! Dae Lynn has a papasan chair and just loves it. That was one piece of furniture that she'd always wanted.

I don't have any plans for the weekend. Glen's busy with farm work so there's no plans for the two of us. I'll be going to garage sales too. I really enjoy getting out after being home with Karlie most of the week. Jaci left on vacation with her boyfriend's family so the house is going to be really quiet for the next week.

Oh, there are a couple of good auctions that I think I'll go by tomorrow. One of them is the wife of Richard Conte, who is an old famous movie star. His wife has a home here and is selling the contents. Everything sounds too fancy for me but I think that I'll go and take a look anyway. The other one has a lot of antiques so they should both be pretty interesting.

The auctions sound cool Diana! I've never been to an auction.
Enjoy your quiet time!

We have a wedding to attend this evening, and Saturday afternoon, I'll be helping a friend with some things. Substitute teaching a Bible class on Sunday morning. Other than that, not too much going on.

I'm going to the Farmer's Market to look for produce. There is a flower shop I want to check out, and a large flea market right near me. I also have a pottery exhibit, and some other event I can go to if I want. Sunday, one of the women in my writers' group is opening her perennial gardens for viewing, so I may go there.

Today, I am going to the pool. I finally got my mp3 player, uploaded a couple of books into it, and am going to lay by the pool and be read to.

Abigail went home today, and we've had g-kids (other than the older ones that are staying with us) for the last 5 weekends, so I'm having some "ME TIME" this weekend. I need to do some deep cleaning in the house and work with the doggies, getting Fancee ready for the arrival of her pups next week.

Good weekend to you all!

Let's see....today I did a lot of running it seems. Took Ricky to the Dr about his elbows. Nothing to worry about now or in the future. The popping is a tendon going over a bone. Then we went to Mother's. I called to see how she was and she said there was some blood on her bandage. There was a little so I called the Dr and they said it was normal and not to worry. I told them she is still in a lot of pain so they called in meds to Wal Mart. Ricky and I went to get them and then took them back to Mom's.

Then we had to run some poo out to the Vet. Neither girl did their business before going for their annuals so we had to run it out today.

Then I went and got my hair cut. It's almost all gray now. There is still a little brown on top, but if it was cut it would be way too short. So hopefully I can get it trimmed off before school starts. Then I will post pictures.

Not sure what I'm doing tomorrow. I would like to go to garage sales or an auction, but I'm always so lazy on Saturday mornings. May have to force myself or just stay home. Sunday, one of my puppy parents is coming to show me how beautiful she is. I am so excited to see another puppy full grown. These people are wonderful so I'm anxious to see them too.

Janet, I had to laugh at "Then we had to run some poo out to the Vet." in the middle of your busy day  I understand it, but it sounded funny!

You are such a caring breeder! The breeder I got Layla from said she likes to keep in touch with all of her "extended family" but she never once tried to contact me or asked me to stay in touch. I have emailed her a couple of times with pictures and she eventually replies "Oh she has gotten so beautiful" but just really doesn't seem to care that much.

Well, I went by the auctions and they certainly sounded better on the sale bill than they actually were in real life. There was on trailer of small boxes with all kinds of stuff you would take out of a bathroom. Yuck!! I couldn't believe that they were going to auction that stuff off!!!

I did find some stuff at a garage sale. I bought a little dress for my granddaughter, Daya. I bought a couple of shirts, one was too small but really cute so I'm going to save it because I've been losing a little weight and I might be able to wear it soon. Then I bought some Premiere jewelry. I really like that brand and I have several pieces that I wear a lot. I bought a necklace and earring set, a necklace with three crosses that I'm going to give to Jaci for Christmas, and a silver ring with a black stone. I was really excited about the jewelry!! So it was a good day and the weather was just beautiful!!!

Sounds like you found some great things Diana!
My plans haven't exactly happened yet lol. I was going to pack last night, but I got a call from Steph, a college friend whom I haven't seen since last year. She was on her way into town and was going out with her sister last night (she turned 19, legal age here, a week ago). I couldn't pass up a chance to see Steph and "little Steph" so I decided to get out for a night! But before I left, I found a great deal on a little room divider/privacy screen that is EXACTLY what I wanted for my condo. I went to the new area of town to pick it up from one of the biggest houses I've ever been in! Of course, I also got lost on the way and forgot my cell phone at home  What happened to straight streets?
Today is so hot. With the humidity, it feels like 38 degrees C (100.4 F). We don't have AC so I'm keeping all of the windows closed and the blinds shut so hopefully we can keep it a normal temperature in here. When we get too hot outside, we can come home and do some more packing with fans on!

I'll be staying home this weekend to watch Fancee for whelping signs. She's the one that makes sure I'm there. Therefore, I'll be cleaning and relaxing.

Whelping! Sounds exciting!

This weekend I have decided to skip the Dragon Boat festival.

My dad and brother are heading out to Alberta for our family get-together, golf-tournament thing. We have one annually where all the family (on my dad's side) from across the country gets together and we take turns hosting it.

On Saturday, my mom and I are going to head out to where her mom is from, because there will be a memorial service for my grandpa who passed away 5 years ago. My mom's brothers and sisters (there are 9 of them!) should all be coming from across the country. It's almost 3 hours away and I didn't want my mom to drive alone, so I will be driving her. Since we have nowhere to stay there and I've got nobody around to take care of Layla, we will be returning Saturday night. I'm hoping she will help me with some packing!

Why is there a memorial service for your Grandfather that passed away 5 years ago? I'm lost.

Everyone is just getting together at his grave site for prayers and memories. At the time of his funeral, most of my mom's siblings didn't even recognize each other. Some haven't seen each other in 30 years. They are spread out from Ontario to BC! And most haven't seen each other since the funeral either. So it's just a chance for everyone to get together and remember him.

So it's actually kind of a reunion.

Sort of, yes, in memory of my grandpa. I believe there will be someone from the Catholic church there as well.

Buried my Mother a year ago today. I woke up to realize that I don't want to remember the day she died - I want to remember the days she lived. I'm incredibly sad that she's not here with me, and will be until the day I die, but I think she's so happy.

I think that's the best way to remember someone, Sandy. Not by their death but by how they lived. When I become sad over losing someone I try to remember them laughing and enjoying life. That's how I want to be remembered.

Sandy...I feel the same about my dad. He's been gone a long time....36 years next month on the 13th. I can't believe it's been that long because it hurts as though it was yesterday. I just try to focus on the good memories I have and how much I loved him....and he loved me.

Well, it shows how many funerals I've been to in the past few years when I didn't even remember my grandpa was never buried. We buried his ashes in the cemetary yesterday, and from oldest to youngest, each person took a turn shoveling dirt over his box. I was the only grandchild who showed up, and two great-grandchildren were also there. After some words and some memories we gathered at my grandma's house for food and drinks and good times :)
I was having a lot of laughs until I couldn't find my mom and finally went inside to find her SMOKING a cigarette with my uncle  I said "Mom! What are you doing?" and she said "I just had to have a little puff" and I said "No you didn't!" and I was pretty upset. On the way home some tears came and I made her promise not to do it again. I don't want her to mess up her health because she's really important to me. She shouldn't be smoking with all the medicine she's on. I was so proud of her for quitting, and I was telling everyone that yesterday. I was even talking to my uncle about it about 30 minutes before she was smoking his cigarette  I feel let down.
