Hi All!
I've found a great new yogurt - Greek strained yogurt. It tastes really great! I'm not much of a yogurt eater - but I need to eat more due to the calcium (I always need extra calcium). It is hard for me to find this particular brand, so many of you may not be able to - but I've been seeing Greek yogurt in my local store for a while. I haven't tried any other brands, maybe some of you have, if so, are they good?
This brand is Fage, 2%. It has a little side container (not mixed with the plain yogurt) that is honey, peaches, or strawberries. The container says NOT to stir the yogurt, so you just spoon it on the top of the plain yogurt and eat. MMMMMM! The yogurt is thick - I don't much like runny yogrut, so this consistency is great!
It is 130 cals per container (2%) for strawberry and peach and 180 for honey. I don't care for the honey as I think it is too sweet, of course, I could just reduce the amount of honey I spoon on top! There is a whole milk yogurt also, but that has way too many calories for me!

I just found the full fat yogurt in HEB - I asked them to get the 2%, but don't know if they will or not. Do you have HEB in Podunk, Tx? :D

Do you really live in Podunk?
Podunk is what you call any small town that doesn't have much in the way of amenities.
That's why I was making fun.

It's about 2 hours SW of Carthage. We are 45 miles west of Shreveport in the beautiful piney woods of east Texas :)
I'm eating my 2% Fage right now! Oddly enough, we do have it in Podunk, NY in Freshtown. Thank goodness for wealthy weekenders. We ave some fancy foods to keep them happy.
I get a big Fage, with no "dressings" on the side. I eat mine mixed with maple and brown sugar instant oatmeal, flax seed, wheat germ, and blueberries if I have them. Its a very filling breakfast/lunch.
I have been getting the most delicious fruits and veggies lately! The farm stands are stocked up with gorgeous tomatoes! I have been going to different strands that people recommend. It is a lot of fun. I'm going blueberry picking soon.

I love plain yogurt on granola cereal. I haven't tried Fage on it yet, but I think it would be GREAT!!! It's hard though, to find granola that isn't FULL of sugar and fat.
I'm going to try it though, cause I think it would be great!

Crockett is in the tall piney wood's too. They begin on the north side of Houston. We went to school for a couple of years on Huntsville. It was really pretty there!!!
I'll have to look for Fage in Podunk, South Texas!!! Would love to try it.
Judy, so wish I could go with you to see the farm stands. Our farmers market closed weeks ago. It's way past tomato season around here and I don't think we have near the variety of fruits and veggies that you have there.
We would have so much fun Marilyn! This is dairy country, but fruits and veggies are grown all over. I bought a blueberry rasberry confection made with the cook's freshly picked fruits. I think I am going to eat itl now!!!;)

Judy, that just sounds like heaven to me - I'd love to rummage the farmers markets, and all the little local stores up there. That would be so much fun!
