We have a 3 day weekend coming up...Labor Day is Monday!!! Anyone have any special plans?

About the only thing we're going to do is go to the rental house and do some odds and ends repairs and get it ready to rent or sell. Also need to mow the lawn there and trim the bushes. They took such great care of the place while they lived there, but you can sure tell they were planning on moving.

I would like to cook on the grill sometime over the weekend, but we need to get the rental house taken care of first.

Hello, lovePINK!!! Great to have you here. Sounds like you will fit right in.

We don't have any special plans. Just need to catch up on some things around the house. Rex was working on my "new" car today, getting it ready to register and drivable. I haven't told you all about that one yet. So may go crusin' a bit.

Not trying to be mysterious, but I'm now the proud owner of a '57 T-Bird. Azure blue. She is soooo pretty!!!

OMG Marilyn, I'm soooo jealous - that is one of my fave cars!!!

No plans for the weekend. I have a cousin coming to town to see her hubby's children, so we will see them Sat. morning, but that is all.

We plan to vegetate and have a relaxing weekend!

I didn't realize Canada and the US had the same holiday! Except of course, we spell it the Canadian way ;) Labour Day :)

I'm going back home probably Saturday morning... My grandma and great-uncle will be going there too, along with my brother and his girlfriend (but they don't have the girls this weekend). I was planning on leaving Friday night but with all the hectic work I've been doing, I just got started on laundry tonight and I won't have time to pack. I actually put in 32.5 hours total over two days at work

I think we'll be spending a lot of time at the lake. My dad has put all the new flooring in, so I'm really excited to see it! I am actually taking the whole week off because my mom has holidays, and my dad is taking Tuesday off too. That day we're going to drive into the city so my mom and I can pick out paint colors! I'm not sure how much painting I'll do, because I'm kind of sick of it  but I promised I'd help out. Then hopefully it's nice enough to lay on the beach! I'm so so so excited to be cut off from the world for a week! I'll be sure to take my camera for some pictures!

It rained here pretty good and I was thinking that, maybe it would be nice to get away for a night, but tomorrow one of my granddaughter's has a birthday party. It's going to be a swimming party at a nice pond nearby, but it's been so chilly here that I'm not sure that anyone will swim!!

Dae Lynn and Damon have a spot reserved at the lake but, again, it's going to be chilly. I think that they're planning on going though. I tell you that I'd have a permanent spot by the fire!!!

My husband's moving grain bins (that's a site to see!!) so I'm not sure that we could get away anyway!!! So far they've moved six and they have three more to go. Then they have to work on getting them all set up. For us there is no holiday. Bummer!!!

Saturday, we're making a day trip to Sarah's (g-daughter) 2nd birthday party (drive 2.5 hours, sit 2 hours, drive 2.5 hours). Then, we'll just hang out around the house on Sunday and Monday. Jonathan came in from Iraq yesterday for two weeks, so they're going camping. I need to get a haircut and new undies this weekend.

Y'all have a great holiday weekend.

What kind of camper do you have Paula? You'll have to post some pics of it. I love camping, but it's been quite some time since we have. I'd love to have a motor home so it would be easier to take all the doggies.

Janet, we have a 26' travel trailer with a super slide out. It is the perfect size for us and the 3 yorkies. I'll post pics after vacation, I need to take new ones. Yeah, a motorhome would be awesome, but the ones I like are WAY out of our price range:p

I hope you all have a great weekend!

I am spending the day at the pool today, and probably tomorrow. The weather is really beautiful up here; 75 to 80 during the day, sunny, and very cool at night.

Autumn is beginning up here. The trees all the way up in the mountains are turning, and at my level too. It's a good time of the year up here.

My summer friends are pretty much leaving this weekend, or have left already.
I will miss them!!!

Sounds like fall has made it your way!!! It's still pretty warm here. 91 deg. right now. With high tomorrow of 94. But at least it's not 100. Enjoy your fall. We'll be there in late October, early Nov.

Yes...the motorhomes I like are way out of our price rance too...LOL. I don't think I would want to spend that much even if I could afford it.

I got to drive the car a bit today. We took it and had wire wheels installed by Discount Tire that we had bought online. They are replicas of the original '57 T-Bird wire wheels. It took two and a half hours, they had some problems with one of the inner tubes. They wouldn't drive the car. I had to pull it into the service bay for them. Rex had followed me in the truck. We were going to drop it off and go buy groceries while they worked on it, but we ended up staying around. Rex had to remove the finder shirts for them. They were being so careful with the car, and the wire wheels look so nice now that they are on. We have a few other things to do yet to get it ready to show, but it's looking so good already. It's in really nice condition, and is quite a head turner when I drive down the street. People honk and wave. One guy stopped beside me at a red light and ask if I'd trade and said it was beautiful. I really like my little blue bird, and will post pics. I'm driving it without the roof right now, and am enjoying the open air. I'd never driven a convertable before.

We were going to a Sonic this evening for a car club meetup, but would you believe, of all times, it started to sprinkle a bit, so we didn't go.

Janet I didn't know that you have a rental.. good luck with whatever you decide to do rent or sell. Maybe you should keep it if you get a good rental and don't have problem with tenants. Its a good investment and extra income coming in. Weigh your pros and cons...

Light up that bbq you need to eat and have some time for you this weekend.. It's Labor day aka day to relax.. Enjoy!

We just don't know for sure what we want to do. The tenants we had were there for 8 years. They took excellent care of the place until they decided to move. So we had a few repairs. I would love to keep it and have the extra income, but also worried as we age that we won't be able to keep up with repairs. Just not sure what to do.

We worked in the house yesterday and I was so sore today that I wasn't able to do much. I'm a workhorse and need to pace myself. I shouldn't have worked so hard and so fast yesterday.
