Did any of you catch it this evening? She was saying that N. Korea does not allow cell phones because the are afraid the U.S. can listen in on what they are doing. They only have two TV channels and both are run by the government.
Also, they don't have billboards, well they do, but they only have their "leader" on them. Lisa had a fashion mag in her room and they told her not to leave it there.
The N. Korean people have no idea that they are not still at war with the U.S. They have no links to the outside world. They snuck (is that a word?) a camera into a person's home and there was only framed pictures of their leader on the walls.
This whole situation is very scary and they have said they will not put up with anything the U.S. tries to do. They also said if any countries tried to use sanctions that it would be a cause for war.

That entire Korean situation is waaaay out there. The leader makes his people starve as he feeds himself whatever delicacies his fancy desires. It's just an awful situation.
I am not one to get into "politics"....But, we need to be rid of this man.
Oh, and answer to your question, No I didn't see Oprah today. :( (I was online with you all!!, but that's not a bad thing though now is it? hahahaha)

I agree - the situation with N. Korea is definitely a scary thing! The leader definitely has to go. To rule with an "iron thumb" like that country (and others), cutting their people off from the "real" world - they must not be too confident in themselves to not allow it. To me, a good leader would allow the "new and changing" world - if he's worth a darn, his people won't revolt!

I saw Oprah yesterday and I had NO earthly idea that N. Korea was like that!!!!!! They are completely oblivious to anything that is going on outside their country. I was appalled that they still think they are at war with the US. This is a very very scarey situation, especially since they now have WMD. :(

It almost made me sick to my stomach. We can not afford another war, we are stretched so thin now and I'm afraid N. Korea is just trying to start one. They said on the news that now S. Korea is stepping up their arms program and the same with Japan so that they will be able to protect themselves. I don't think N. Korea would think twice about using a nuclear weapon. There is really no way to stop these countries from building up their arms and it is just a matter of time.

I knew NK was communist...but I didn't know it was that bad. How scary!! I'm worried about what our future holds. It IS just a matter of time...I was just hoping I wouldn't be around (or my kids & grandkids) to see it.:(

I wish China was being a little more supportive...this situation is pretty mind numbing. I just read where the government is wondering how much of the ingredients for WMD have already been sold to places like Iran, Syria, etc. by N. Korea. China doesn't not support sanctions concerning Iran. This is going to just get worse and worse. I'm not completely happy with everything our President has done, but what scares me even more is to get a new President in the middle of something bad.
