These pix are from another forum I follow occasionally. It's a little town in New Mexico, Chama where the Cumbres and Toltec narrow gauge train operates. The train takes tourists through some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen. It is right on the northern New Mexico/southern Colorado border. The train starts in NM and ends in CO.
Anyway, the aspens just changed color to a brilliant yellow/orange. I've never seen it because it only last for 3-4 days, maybe a week. The wind will blow the leaves off very soon after they turn yellow. Gary has seen it several times when he would go hunting in Colorado about this time of year. Gary and I used to camp in the summer in our travel trailer, very close to where these pictures were taken. We can't go up there anymore cuz Gary can't take the altitude. It is a beautiful place!
Someone posted pictures of the aspens just a few days ago. Simply stunning! Here's a link to more pix http://www.trainstuff.info/forctsrrphotos/photogalleries/10-01-09fallcolors/fallcolors.htm
