I went down to the dentist on Monday, and on the way down, my implants on the bottom left side of my mouth came loose and came right out of my mouth. I have been feeling something wrong with them since June, but the dentist didn't check. Now, after being in pain since last week, one of the implants broke, and two of the screws holding two other implants broke off.

So, now I need another implant. Then, it has to heal, then they have to make me new teeth. Healing takes a good 3 or 4 months alone. I also have to walk around with the bottom left side of my mouth toothless. It's very becoming:( I won't be able to smile or talk freely for about a month, until he gets my provisional bridge in.

I am going back on Friday so that he can begin the process. And, here I was, thinking that I'll have maybe 2 more visits and I'll finally be done! Not!!!:(:(:(

This has been going on for 11 years! I was finished about 4 years ago, and the two front top teeth broke right under the caps.

The good news is that, at this point, I don't have to pay for anything. My supervising dentist, Dr. Elian, told me that it's all on them. He is such a lovely man.

And, I have discovered the shopping on Route 17 in New Jersey, which is how I go to and from the city. Monday, I went to TJMaxx. I think Friday is an Annie Sez day, and maybe Kohl's.

Oh Judy, I am so sorry - but glad you have a dentist that you love and trust and that you don't have to pay. Dental work is soooooo expensive and I KNOW some dentists do unnecessary work - a large nationwide study (sting) showed this a few years ago.

I just HATE dental work. My hubby has horrible teeth and gums. Everyone I know who spent time in Vietnam in the military has bad teeth and gums in adulthood - maybe it's just a coincidence, idk. Anyway, we have spent a fortune on his teeth/gums in the past. Fortunately now, he is able to get his dental work covered through the VA, and like you, he now has a great dentist that he loves - and I assure you, they don't do any unnecessary work at the VA! HA!

Good luck with everything, I"m so sorry that you have to go through this again!

Oh no, Judy!! I can't believe that you're having trouble with your implants. How sad. I'm sure you were upset when they came out! I'm glad that it's not something that you have to pay for but still........it's got to be hard to think about doing all of this over again.

Well....you've just steered me toward false teeth instead of implants...lol.

I'm sorry you're having trouble. I know you had posted before about almost being done and now this. Hopefully you'll heal faster than you expect and you'll be done quickly.

Judy how did your implants break ? Don't tell me that they can.. :( What happen ? did you eat something hard ? How long were they implanted ??? I have one more month to go and then hopefully my implants have fused on the bottom and I can start the bridge work. It has been a long and very expensive year..

That is wonderful that you don't have to pay any more money out of your pocket..

I love Annie Sez, TJMAX , Kohls, and Judy if they have a SteinMart they have awesome clothes and housestuff.. I went to Annie Sez today treated myself to tops and shoes.. :)
