Last Friday Nate proposed to Jaci!!! They had gone out to eat and took a walk at a nearby lake/park. They were standing on a bridge with the sun sitting and Nate got down on one knee and asked her. I guess that before he even got it out of his mouth Jaci was jumping up and down saying yes!!! I'm so glad that it was a romantic proposal!!! He gave her a beautiful 3 diamond ring!!!
I know that she's really young and college will be questionable, but they have decided to wait on intimate things until after they're married. Nate and his family just love her and they are bigger farmers than we are so we know that she'll be taken care of very well. Really ......I would like for her to have some time out on her own, just to grow up a little, but she is very determined about this. So.......we'll be having a wedding next spring/summer!!!!!

Congratulations to Jaci and Nate. I know how much you approve of him and that's a good thing. The proposal was so sweet and romantic. Now go get Jaci...have her place her hand on a pretty pillow or piece of velvet and take a picture....how else are we going to get to see the ring???? :)

Diana,
This is wonderful news!!! I know you are concerned about her being so young, and I can relate soooo much. My daughter got engaged in high school too, and she got married in June after she graduated from HS in May. I wasn't upset, horrified, but not really upset LOL! I was however, VERY concerned that she was too young, hadn't had enough experiences, etc etc. My only foot stomping fit was about college. As you know I have my PhD and I just couldn't fathom that she wouldn't be a college graduate. She poo pooed me and said that OF COURSE SHE WAS GOING TO COLLEGE. I'd told her I would pay her tuition and books, so there was no reason not to go. Her hubby had a good job and she only needed to work part time. All went well till she got pregnant in the middle of her freshman year. But true to her word, she had Abigail in Sept, took that semester off from school and started back part time that next spring. It took her 7 years, but she did it! YAY!!!
They have been married 14 years and I can't imagine having any other son-in-law. He is just the absolute BERRIES! Love that kid!

You guys are just too sweet!! Thanks so much!! I was pregnant and married BEFORE my senior year so I really don't have any place to talk. I'm just a parent that worries!!! I know that she'll be fine! I actually saw this coming when they first started dating. They just had so much in common with their farm background but are still very different personalities. Nate's family just loves Jaci and we love Nate. I do see some problems down the road but nothing that they won't be able to handle. Now if I can just get through the wedding!!!!

I reported the above post...neither of the 2 posts are appropriate for what thread they're in. Not sure if it's a real person or spamoid.

No it wasn't a regular member here....I can't even remember the name. They only had two posts and they were just very strange. I'm glad Admin. took care of it. We sure don't want this site to end up like some of those others.

Diana...there was a post after yours about the engagement and the post started out saying something like "if it was true". I thought...who is this and why are they so rude....trying to start something...so I reported them using the little triangle thingy. Admin. must have deleted it.
