Here are some pictures from the weekend :)
On Saturday, my mom and I spent about an hour shoveling the driveway and chipping the ice off.... it's pretty steep and my car barely made it up! Of course, the next morning it was covered again

On Sunday we took a drive out to the cabin.
My mom has gotten all of the cabinet doors painted and put back up. It looks much darker in person than in the picture.

That wall covered in wallpaper? Well, now it's covered in paneling! It will be painted light blue with the other walls.
5520
There was a ton of snow at the lake, even more than in town. In some spots it was about half a foot deep!
5521
My dad bought a new wood stove. He needs to still attach the chimney.

My dad has put up most of the railing on our new deck and it looks way better than I expected it to

And Layla lazing on the couch

You can be an honorary mom as far as I'm concerned :)

The snow is supposed to melt this weekend. The forecast says it will be about 15 C (59 F) on Saturday. That's good news because my motorcycle is covered in snow right now, and I need to get it across the city into Scott's friend's garage for the winter :) Then it can snow all it wants!

Hi Lindsay, thanks so much for sharing your Thanksgiving pictures with us. But you didn't tell us what you had to EAT - the most important event at Thanksgiving :D J/K - spending time with family is definitely most important!!!
Thanks so much for those pictures! I never see that much snow in Texas in 10 years!!! My 13 year old granddaughter has never seen that much snow - she's only seen the dustings we have in Texas!
I love the pix of the cabin and especially the pics of Layla!!! She is so adorable!

Great pics Lindsey! It is beautiful there!!! Layla is a DOLL!!!!!!!! Are the cabinets that you painted in the cabin metal? Yeah like Gayle asked... what did ya have for dinner?:)
Lindsey

Gayle, just wait until it's actually winter here, I'll show you what snow is REALLY like :p
The cabinets in the cabin are wood. My dad's friend actually made them :) The house belonged to his grandparents. They were just stained a really light orangish color, and we wanted to go for a darker look.
And here's what we ate :p ... Turkey, stuffing, cooked turnips, mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, and sliced cucumbers. I didn't even have room in my tummy for pumpkin pie. About 10 minutes after we had finished eating my mom said "Oh! We forgot to eat cabbage rolls!" they were all pre-made and in the fridge lol. But I brought them home to eat here lol. There were only three of us there so it was more than enough food!

Unfortunately, I can't send any sunshine as we haven't had any either for the past 3 weeks - BUT, I can send some heat and humidity! Not looking forward to 91 today, we are supposed to have a cool front by Thurs afternoon - thankfully!

Ok, I'll take the heat and humidity. Anything's better than cloudy, cool, and damp!!!

We must be having the same Diana. It's rainy, cloudy and so not pretty out. Not suppose to get out of the 40's today or for the next few days.

I'm just tired of it!! We're still dreary again today and probably will be tomorrow too. Yuck!!!!
Sorry Lord, here I am complaining again. I know that I should be grateful in all things but I'm really needing some sunshine but even in all of this I can find something to be thankful for. Thank you so much for my nice warm home and for the electricity to keep away the gloomy day. I'm sorry for my complaining when there are others who are so much worse off than I am. I love you, Lord. Amen

What a lovely prayer Diana:) It's dreary and rainy here today too. I think tomorrow the high is only going to be in the 40's. Well girls... I think winter will be upon us soon.

We are having our first afternoon of sunshine in so long I can't remember when the last sunny day occurred. It was cloudy and dreary this morning, but this afternoon the sun is shining brightly. Of course, it's 90 degrees, but at least the sun is shining

Maddie, tell Lucas that Layla would love to have him for a playdate ;)
Lol Gina, I remember last November when we were in NYC and we were walking around in T-shirts. The men selling bags and wallets on the streets would tell us "Put some sweaters on! Aren't you cold?" and we were like "We're from Canada! :D" lol it was much nicer weather down there!
