I don't know if there were any problems on FB or not today. I went to some garage sales, visited Dae Lynn, had problems with my blood sugar, came home, and slept all afternoon. I'm so aggravated at myself because I really had some things that I needed to get done.

What was going on with your blood sugar Diana? Is that what made you sleepy?

My bs has been going too low, like around 40, which is really low. When it does that I feel shaky and can't think well, which is usually how I know that I'm in trouble. It takes a while to get it back up and it just wipes me out. It's only done it a few times on me but still it's scary when it goes that low. I was at the doctor the other day and she didn't seem too concerned about it. I really need to start snacking more regularly to prevent this from happening but I can't have sugar (obviously) and I can't have ANY salt (to prevent water retention) so I'm really lost when it comes to snacking.

I'm also having trouble with my blood pressure. I think it's because of not having any salt and having a water pill that's actually working. My BP has been running around 105/58 or so...So that makes it hard to function too. The doctor cut back my bp meds but I'm still having problems so I'm cutting back on another med as well so we'll see what happens. I just have several things hitting me at once right now. Thanks so much for asking.

Diana, fruit is usually a good snack for keeping blood sugar up and it doesn't have any salt! Oh and when Gary's blood sugar gets too low (cause he takes too much insulin) he is wiped out too - it's common when that happens.

Thanks, Gayle. I have been eating apples in the afternoon and it has been helping. I'm not used to having to worry about snacking so one of my problems is going too long in between eating. Since I'm taking meds for my BS I have to be more cautious about this because it's doing a good job of lowering my BS. I think that I'm borderline on even needing the meds.

It sounds like you are borderline needing meds or not. I bet if you really watched your diet closely and increased your exercise, you wouldn't need meds at all. But meds are not bad - it allows you a little more freedom - maybe you need a slightly lower dose.

I cut the pill in two (and I've talked to the dr. since I've done this) but there's not a lower dose than the half that I'm taking. Like you said, I think that if I watch my diet close enough and get some exercise I could probably get off of the meds.
