Went to an auction this morning just around the corner. There were so many items and I would have loved to bid on a few things, but it was sooooo cold...43 degrees and the wind was blowing and at times there was a light mist. Ricky went with me because they had a JD lawn mower there and thought we should get it.

After a couple hours, I had to come home so I could get warmed up only to find I forgot to turn the furnace up this morning so it was cold in here too....LOL. The furbabies teeth were chattering....LOL.

I love auctions!!
Went to one a few weeks ago and got a CD cabinet for $12.00, and a old metal enamel top cabinet for all of $2.00!! Love a bargain...

Oh no!!! It's bad enough to be disappointed about not being able to stay at the auction but then coming home to a cold house certainly wasn't fun. What kind of things were you looking at bidding on? Anything interesting?

I found a couple of old quilts this morning at a garage sale. They are old friendship quilts where they used to embroider their names on them. I recognized some of the names which was fun. The name Fern was on both of the quilts which is Glen's Great-grandmother's name but there wasn't a last name with it. Looking at the names and where they lived it could have possibly been her. I need to do some talking to my MIL.

That's a pretty unusual name. I bet it IS her! How neat is that?!!!

Gina....I think you would like an auction. You can get everything from very old antiques to brand new items. From silverware to linens to furniture and more. I like going to estate auctions the best. And yes...it's pretty much just like on TV

Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtwWEvmohPs&feature=PlayList&p=34252BC0C3E2BD98&index=13

I really enjoy going through all the items.

That's the way they do it here too. There's some auctioneers that I like a lot more than others because they're easier to understand. I much prefer going to flea markets because the price is right there and you don't get caught up in the auction and pay more than you were planning on. It's awful easy to bidding when it goes over what you want to pay!!! Been there, done that!!!

Huh???? I have no idea what that auction guy was even saying! We have an auction down the road and across the bridge every Friday night. I'd love to go, but I need someone to teach me the ropes the first couple of times.

Also, I never just sit still. I'm always doing something, or fidgeting. I'm afraid I would end up buying everything by accident.
