Scott and I ventured back home again last weekend because I promised my parents we'd help paint! On Saturday my dad took the day off from hunting and got the rest of the wall panels put up, while I got 2 walls primed (one is being covered with rock-look panels behind the wood stove, and the other is still covered in glue from a wallpaper border).

On Sunday, my uncle had come back to town to hunt with my dad, and my mom wanted a day to sleep in, so Scott and I got up bright and early and headed out alone. It turns out the blue color my mom picked exactly matched the doors, door frames, and baseboards! We were done two coats by 11 am and didn't have to be home until 1 for lunch so we decided to do a coat of white on the doors, frames, and baseboards, so when we took pictures my mom could see a difference :)

The first two pictures show the same color on the doors and walls (a bit of primer on the door frame shows a huge difference though!)

That's looking really nice Lindsey! I really like that paint color. In the pics, it looks like it has a gray cast to it. Very pretty!

I think that it looks very nice!! I also think that it must be fun to have a "family" project!! You're going to have so many nice memories there!!!

Paula, yes it does seem a little gray. But I think it's a good color for a cabin because it's basically a mish-mash of furniture so the color isn't too bold! It's not white, but it's still quite neutral and modern looking.

Diana, I'm having so much fun with the project! My brother goes out there when he has time to work on the electrical stuff and I am helping out with picking colors and painting so we all have something to do. I was really hoping we could spend Christmas out there, but before my dad could hook up the wood stove it snowed and got too cold to try to put the chimney through the roof. Right now there's just electrical heat out there and it's really expensive. My dad just keeps it at 10 degrees C (50 F) so the pipes don't freeze, and we turn it up higher when we're in the cabin. At just 10 degrees it's costing between $200 and $300 a month just to heat

That is such a pretty color Linds! Hopefully, it will be ready soon. The cost of heat is so high! It does sound like you may have to wait until the chimney goes up.

That looks great! Love the color! Too bad it costs so much to heat, but I'm sure your dad will get it all fixed up in no time:)
