Santa!

This is a life size santa at a house by my daughter's. It is so cool, when you drive up, it is motion activated and he moves and talks. He says things like Ho Ho Ho and Merry Christmas, and then he signs a verse of some songs like Jingle Bells, all the while moving his arms and swaying back and forth.

He is out, right by the street, every Christmas. We can all hardly wait till he is out and we can drive by and stop and listen to him talk/sing.

I think that would happen here, but the people who put him out keep a real close eye on him. I think they even put him in the garage overnight.

There was a story in the paper last year about a retired couple that live on the "other side of town". They love Christmas decorations and have their small yard filled with all sorts of decorations. But, they can't leave them out overnight because they would be stolen or vandalized. So, they bring them in every night and put them out again the next day. I think it takes about 2 hours for each. They do it because they love them and because not many people can afford yard decorations in their neighborhood, so everyone walks/drives by and they enjoy providing enjoyment for their neighbors. It's a shame though, that some people have to be so mean.

How cute!! Do you mean that he "signs" a song....as in sign language? That's awesome!!! That's too bad about vandalism. We have that here too but not too awful bad. You don't hear of it much but it does happen.

My brother and sil have one exactly like this, lol! But theirs is in the house right by the front door. He'll scare you half to death if you forget he's there:rolleyes:

That's sad about the vandalism. Sounds like Brooklyn. My father once had 2 potted plants stolen off of his porch! Up here, I'm sure there has been some vandalism, but nobody worries about it. Our Main Street homes have beautiful decorations out.

Only recently, people left their pocketbooks in their unlocked cars while they ran in shopping. There was a guy from somewhere else who was caught stealing in the parking lot, so now we have to lock our doors.

Anyway, Ho, Ho, Ho!!!
