Got up this morning and everything was fine! Did some dishes, folded some laundry, put a load in the washer everything was fine till it went to fill for the rinse cycle, and nothing came out, checked the kitchen faucet nothing. Hubby got dressed and went out to the well house and tried everything he could think of.
In the past 2-3 yrs we have bought a new pump, a new tank and pulled the whole line from the well wich was no easy task mind you, it's as long as the well is deep and very heavy and if you lose your grip and it falls into the well then you are just SOL, so we replaced the foot vavle on it, the thingy that goes onto the end that is in the water. Anyways hubby is so tired of messing with it, seems at least once a year something happens with it. He called a plumber and talked with him, plumber says it is so out dated that he dosen't work on them like that, so looks like we will be updateing our well system, not sure what it entails or how much but i am sure it will not be cheap!! Problem is he can't come till Tuesday, so i had to go to my daughters house to shower.
My hubby is very mechanical and can usually fix most anything, so he's very grumpy that he can't fix this. Sometimes i hate living in the country !!

Oh Lynne, that is just the PITS!!! I just hate house repairs. We had to spend $8000 on our house this past summer and it just killed me! I guess it's just the way it goes, but it sure puts me in a bad mood when it happens.

I'm so sorry about having no water - that just makes it that much worse! I hope it gets fixed quickly and cheaply! :p

Oh Lynne I am so sorry about your water situation. I have had to deal with a well before too. We just got city water out here where I live about 3 years ago. We still have the well but only use it as a back up when the city water goes off or to wash cars in.

Hope it gets fixed soon. Sorry your hubby is aggravated. Mine would be the same way. He usually can fix about anything around the house so I can understand that this would make him feel a little po'd.

Have you ever noticed how much more often you have to pee when you are in a situation like this LOL. Don't worry we can still flush the toilet if we pour water into the stool and i always keep jugs of water on hand. It's just a mind thing LOL Thanks guys for trying to make me feel better about all of this.

I've already told you that you can come here and shower or whatever you want. Make sure you get estimates Lynne. I know it gets frustrating and we want it fixed now, but don't spend more than you have to. There is a guy near us that does great work and very reasonable. If you want his number...let me know. Not sure how far he'll travel, but when you told me about the plumber....he sounded like an a$$ out for more money. Sounds like our well is as old as yours and our plumber will still work on it.
