My husband works for a Family owned Co-Op Fertilizer Company.
They have this 50 acre corn field so today I took my youngest daughter and one of her friends. They were shelling corn and giving out combine rides.
My daughter has never riden in a combine B4. Her and her friend had a great time. I use to be married to a farmer so it was old hat for me any way. She has the bug now. I took lots of pictures. On their last round a doe jumped out of the corn and ran across the field and across a busy highway. Almost got hit but didn't.
It made it across and into another field. What fun. Another memory we could give to our girl.:D :p

Riding the combine when they're harvesting corn is a lot of fun. Just don't ride when they're harvesting milo (sorghum)..........it's ITCHY!!!!!

Ever since my son was real little he would ride in the combines with the neighbors, he loved it. All the neighbors would buy him things all the time (he was long awaited for not only by my family, but our wonderful neighbors). They bought him all this farm equipment and then Bless their hearts, brought him little buckets full of corn and soybeans to play with. He would spread them all over his carpet and then pretend to harvest them with his tractors, combines and wagons. He had so much fun!! Wasn't so fun when I'd sweep his room and hear bits of soybean or corn going up into the sweeper....ha ha ha :D They are only young for such a short amount of time, so it never bothered me at all. I enjoyed watching him play.
