Karen and Carlton are living in our RV out in California. We've had all sorts of little problems with the RV ever since they got there. The drain lines had cracks and the black water line had to be repaired. The biggest issue was the power inverter went out, so they didn't have power for a few days while that was fixed. The weather was cold, and they were without heat. They had just enough power to run a little heater in their bedroom. Oh, and this is after we spent about $1,400 getting everything in tip top shape before they left.

Well, about a month ago, their refrigerator went out. Karen called and called the repair guy and it was taking him forever to get there. We finally talked to some folks and figured out that the cooling unit had gone out. A new RV refrigerator is about $1,600, so we looked at other options, and finally settled on buying a refurbished cooling unit for $440 (a new one is around $800) and having Carlton replace it. He's very mechanically minded and can take a car apart and put it back together so figured it would not be a problem for him.

On Monday, Feb 22nd, I called a place in Arkansas that refurbishes cooling units, explained the situation, ask if they had one in stock and could they ship it right out, Yes they did and Yes they could, so I ordered it and ask that they let me know if there were any shipping delays. No problem.....until Friday, Feb 26th when I learned that it hadn't been shipped yet. The VP of the company assured me they would ship it the following Monday, March 1st. I called Tuesday, March 2nd and asked if it had shipped, and was told that it had shipped on Monday. Friday, March 5th I got an e-mail with a FedEx freight tracking number. It had shipped Thursday, March 4th and is due to deliver on Wednesday, March 10th. I tried to call the company, but phones went to a full voice mailbox.

I got hold of them today, and they don't understand why I'm upset. The unit is in transit and they don't know why it was delayed. They asked what I wanted them to do? I ask for some compensation because Carlton won't be able to install it now before he deploys to Afghanistan and we are going to have to pay someone to install it. They said they won't offer any compensation, that they shipped the unit and don't understand what my problem is or what I want them to do.

The name of the company is "World Class RV Refrigeration". They sound like Americans but I think they must be Third World Class!!!! I told them I hope that God blesses them. They lied to me three times. They do need God in their lives. Sooo frustrating.

I told Karen to go buy one of those little dorm type refrigerators to use until this is all sorted out. What a mess!!!

These kids have way too much else to think about right now and we wanted them to not have to worry about things like this. I could cry!!

Awww Marilyn, I can certainly understand your frustration. But none of this is your fault. You did everything you were supposed to do sounds like. I know how frustrating and costly it can be when something goes wrong with an RV. The cost to replace or repair the appliances is outrageous!
I hope things get better soon. I wish you and your family all the best.:)

What a pain! It's so hard when our kids call from half way across the country and want us to help them. Sometimes when it rains, it pours! I hope everything gets straightened out.

That would be so frustrating Marilyn....I understand completely. Will Carlton still have time to put it together? I hope he can do it and if not that there is someone trustworthy enough to take care of it. Will Karen be going back to your place once he is deployed?

I'm sure that you're upset......I would be too. Have you thought about calling the Better Business Bureau about this company? I'm sorry that Karen and her husband have to deal with this right now. Hugs, Marilyn.

Shame on them! Poor Karen! She has enough on her mind right now. I hope it gets fixed soon!
