I'm really getting away.....I think.....

You know that it didn't work out last weekend for me to go and visit my Aunt Marva but this weekend........I'm going to her daughter's house, Melissa, and Marva's coming there too. Melissa's community is having city-wide garage sales and a big flea market!! I'm excited!! I guess that they usually find a lot of neat things and go home loaded!!! I'm not looking for anything in particular but just getting away sounds so nice!!! It will be a weekend of laughing and having fun!!! I'm so ready!!! I'm leaving tomorrow about 2:00 and I'll have to be back pretty early on Sunday because we have Care Group here on Sunday evening. Not a long weekend but hopefully one filled with fun!!! Wish that ya'll could come with me!!!

I had such a good time!!! My Aunt Marva is so much fun to be with and Melissa is so much like her!! We went to garage sales and......more garage sales!!!! They were everywhere!!! We left about 9 in the morning and quit at around 5 in the evenng!! I don't know how many we went to. There were even streets that were blocked off and made one way because of the traffic!!!

There was a lot of baby clothes and I picked up a few things for Dean and a few baby toys. I found some things to go in my flea market booth and some things for Jaci. I went to one garage sale and an older man turned to a younger man and told him to bring out all the other shirts and hang them out with the others. We shopped around and he mentioned that his wife had just died in early April and it was obvious that he was getting rid of her things. I went to check out the clothes and they were almost ALL my size!!!! I bought two sacks of nice shirts!!! Some still had the tags on them and they were nice brands!!! I was so excited!! They even came down on the price since I bought so much!!!

We also went to a flea market and I found a couple of small cabinets....one is an old children's cabinet and the other is a nice miniature one that's not too old but cute!!

On Sunday morning we got up and went to a flea market that was just outside of Kansas City. We all got stuff there. It was really interesting loading it all up because Melissa drove a Jeep and they don't have a lot of room in the back!! I bought a large plastic wagon for Karlie and Dean for when they get older and a lilac bush. Marva got a nice corner cabinet and Melissa got a couple of huge hanging baskets!!!!

Melissa has her basement decorated so cute!!! It has a small bedroom and sitting area with it's own bathroom!! She has it decorated with antiques like a B & B!! It's definitely a place that I'll be going back to!!

That guest room sounds really inviting. I bet it was very comfy.:)

It was!! I took some pictures but they don't do justice to how cute the room was! I'm going to have to take Glen there......maybe he'll get some ideas for our own basement!! I'll get the pictures on later.

I am so glad you had fun Diana. I love garage sales and flea markets too. The sale you bought all the shirts is where I should have been. I was just telling Ricky that I needed to get some summer shirt/tops...I just don't have very many. Guess I'll need to get to some sales myself.

I wish that you could have been there too, Janet. Most of the stuff though was long sleeve. I didn't get any summer shirts......any way I don't remember any.

I wouldn't care Diana if they were long sleeve...LOL...I can always use tops for cooler weather too. I'm just glad you found some things. Once Gidget has the puppies I can get away for a couple hours on a Saturday to hit some garage sales. I really anxious to see what's out there.

I love going!! I think that I really like to find bargains! I used to have a Grandma that always went to garage sales.......I think that I must take after her!!!
