We had a really nice time on our trip. The first two days were rainy, cold and windy. Beginning on Wed the weather was just perfect. Of course that was the day that Eric and Heather had to leave. We stayed at River Plantation RV Park in Sevierville, Tn which is just at the edge of Pigeon Forge. There is a pkwy that runs through Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. I think it's about 5 miles long. It feels like all the same place to me but they are 3 separate towns:rolleyes:
The first evening we drove up to Cades Cove, there is a road that you take through the Smoky Mtns and it is a wildlife reserve. We saw lots of turkeys, deer, a gray fox and 2 black bears up in a tree. I took a pic but it is out in a field and my camara just isn't the greatest so you may or may not be able to tell what they are. I can zoom in on them on the computer and tell what they are. Heather has a really good camera with a lens that can zoom in really close so her pix of the bears is alot better than mine.
The second day we kept Ryan while they went and checked on their wedding chapel that they have reserved for Nov. They are getting married Nov 2. They have rented a really nice cabin for the family to stay in and they are treating everybody to Texas Roadhouse for the reception. That is a steak house for anyone that doesn't know.
After the kids left on Wed, hubby and I shopped at the outlet mall. I found some really nice pics for my dining room at Kirklands. I love that store and we don't have one around here. I also got a new tablecloth and a runner for my table.
We ate way too much the whole trip. Anyways here is some pix.:)
#1 A turkey crossing the road
#2 Deer in a field.. Aren't the mtns beautiful?
#3 Bears in a tree.. I hope you can tell what they are
#4 Ryan't first bath in a camper sink:D
