View Full Version : I need camera advice
My camera is not working well, and it really doesn't do everything I want anyway. I think it's time for a new one.
You all take great pictures, so I thought I would ask for advice for a good, mostly point and shoot camera.
Thanks!:):):)
Hi, I bought a waterproof camera because I take my boys to places with a lot of water. It's great I'm going on three years with it and no problems.
Great for Water, Sun, Sand, Winter you name it. Pictures come out wonderful :D
Brand is Olympus
it's a Stylus 850 SW Shock+Waterproof.
Comes in different colors as well. I have an older version so you might want to look for newer style.

I love both my cameras and they were not very expensive. I have a Kodak Z740

and a Canon that I carry in my purse...can't remember what kind..I'll have to check and come back. I like the ones that are simple and take good pictures.

I have a Canon and I just love it. I'll have to look for the model number later. It takes all kinds of pictures and short videos. It does so much that I have very little of it figured out. We got Jaci a similiar one for Christmas only it doesn't take the videos but takes great pictures.

I have a Fuji Film and I think it's a 7000. It has an 18X zoom. We got it to take wildlife pix from a distance. We love it. But it is a bit bigger and not one to carry in your purse.

I'm glad you started this thread Judy. I need a new one too. The one I am using right now is a Kodak Easy Share cx7330. It takes pretty good pix but the view finder is really small.
I have a Canon A560. It's a point and shoot, pocketbook camera. That's what I want again, but this only has a 4X zoom, too long a delay between shots, and inside dark shots come out fuzzy and not well lit, even withe the flash.
I love your pix Gayle, but I don't know how to set up shots that well, and I also like to always have my camera in my bag. Living up here, there are so many times I just pull over and take a picture. It is so beautiful here that it's nice to have a good camera along.
My canon won't load into the computer program it came with. I can upload from the memory card. This is probably fixable, but I have been wanting a better one anyway, so I don't think I'm going to bother fixing this.

Have you found a camera yet Judy? I love both of mine, but take the Canon one with me the most because it fits in my purse. Hope you found the perfect one for you. IF you have found it already...then start posting some pictures.....lol
I started googling reviews this week, and am finding that the Panasonic Lumix looks good for what I need.
It's not too expensive either. I also need a portable air conditioner, and a recliner.
I think it makes sense to get the ac first, being that it's summer. I sure can't get more than one at a time!!!

I understand that completely!! Maybe if the IRS hadn't surprised you it would be different. Don't ya just hate interference with your money... :)
I forgot about that too! I have to fill out the forms for a payment plan. They can wait for the full amount!:rolleyes::rolleyes:
