This morning I had to go in to get some spots removed from my hand and the bottom of my foot. I've written here before about my fear of needles... well I wish I didn't see the needle first. It was the biggest, roundest, longest syringe I've ever seen. The hand hurt, and then the foot... OH MY GOSH... The doctor held my ankle down and I was breathing so hard it sounded like I was in labor  I've never had anything so painful! The doctor left the room and had me rub the spots to work in the anesthetic. I was shaking so hard! Anyways, the spots were removed and will be tested so I'm feeling a little relieved that I don't have to worry anymore. I'm all stitched up and sitting at work waiting for the freezing to come out. I have taken some extra strength Tylenol and hopefully that will ease the pain a bit :( I am such a wimp.
I wish Scott would have been there with me but I had to go alone because he didn't want to miss work. I got to my car and was still shaking so I drove to his office and made him drive me here. I don't want to drive later after taking painkillers all day.

Aww Lyns...sorry you had to go through that all by yourself. I remember that you are terrified of needles. I am too! Hope you feel better soon. And you are right..you absolutely do not need to drive after taking painkillers all day.~Hugs~
I'm sorry you went through it, especially with a long gauge. I'm normally more scared of the drug that's administer then the needle itself.
But its over and done with, YEAAAH!!
Poor thing! At least the spots are off though! I hope you feel better later!

I remember you are afraid of needles. I'm glad it's done and over with. Did they say how long it would be for you to get the results of the tests? What kind of spots were they?

My hand is still okay but I'm starting to feel the foot one a bit... probably because I've been having to walk on it. I need to limit that as much as possible so I don't rip the stitches!
Janet, they haven't said how long until I find out the results, but the surgeon said he'll call me if it's something scary.
The one on my hand was a blueish gray dot that started out small years ago and looked like just a pen mark that wouldn't wash off, and ended up growing to about a quarter inch diameter and sticking out of the skin. The one on my foot was a brown mole-type mark that popped up out of nowhere a couple of years ago and has grown to about 1/3 inch in diameter. The doctor today said that they say you shouldn't get moles on the bottom of your feet because they are hairless, so that's why it was a concern, plus they've both been increasing in size. So they removed them both just to be safe, and they will be tested for cancer.
I am a little concerned because I used to use tanning beds a lot but stopped a couple of years ago when I read the research on them and how much they are linked to skin cancer. Hopefully I didn't do too much damage. Cancer in general runs in my family like crazy, but I don't know of anyone who has had skin cancer.
That can be scary, I know your in suspence waiting for the results. Hopefully it's not cancerous.

Oh my gosh! I woke up in sooooo much pain this morning. I should have woken up during the night to keep taking painkillers. Anyway, I've decided to stay home and rest on painkillers for the day. I'm not going into work, and I'm sure they will be upset about that. I was told yesterday that a new drafter is NOT being hired so I will have to just stay evenings and weekends to get work done. But I can't help this, I'm not going to make it worse by walking on it!

I'm so sorry, Lindsey. My daughter, Amy, had some plantar warts removed and it was very painful for her. The shots on the bottom of her feet were really bad. It' must be really sensitive there or something to do with the size of the needle. I'm glad to hear that it's all over and you're healing now.
I had a couple of spots removed the other day from my hand and arm because of skin cancer. One was dark brown and popped up. The doctor didn't like the looks of it so she just went ahead and took it off. I think that she just froze it will dry ice. It was very odd. I've noticed that I have some other spots that she probably needs to look at. It could be because when I was in high school no one had heard of sunscreen and we used just plain ol' baby oil!!! I must have "fried" myself!!! LOL

The doctor said the middle of the bottom of the foot, where I got the shot, isn't as bad as the heel but still pretty bad!
I hope your spots turn out to be nothing Diana. My mom used to use baby oil too! A few years ago she was telling me how I'd get such a nice tan using oil and I was like  I don't want to beg for skin cancer!
I have an olive complexion and very rarely burn so I'm hoping I'm okay. The worst burn I've ever had was in Mexico this year and I burned EVERYWHERE and peeled for about 2 weeks!
I hope your foot feels better soon! Stitches on the bottom on your foot sound painful! I am sure it will come back benign.
They really need you at work! They can never fire you! I'm surprised they didn't bring the work to your house. Are you still taking Layla to work with you?
Sounds like you can do whatever you want there!

They definitely need me there! I'm considering asking about getting access to the network from home for times like this. I really do feel bad for not being there today but ultimately there SHOULD be more than one drafter there. I am allowed to get sick and go on vacation but every time I do I come back to a huge load of work. If, God forbid, I was in a car accident or something, or landed in the hospital for any reason, the company would be screwed. We hired an engineer from Arizona a few weeks ago and he can not BELIEVE that there is only one drafter. He talked to me about it and asked if I get really stressed out and I said "Oh yeah!" He has never worked in a place where engineers outnumber drafters like this. But I guess if I keep bending over backwards for the company to get things done, they're not going to change anything and I'll end up taking stress leave before I'm 30

I got my stitches taken out yesterday. I was supposed to have my hand stitches out after 12 days and my foot after 18 days. Yesterday was 14 days and I'm glad I got them all removed. In both my hand and my foot, the stitches were in so deep that they had to stick the scissors into my skin and snip some of the skin to snip the stitch. So that got me bleeding again!
My hand feels SO uncomfortable. When I type, the bones in my hand move with my fingers, and I can feel the scar tickling against the bones, like there's something in my skin, and it's just a sickening feeling for me. It's almost like fingernails on a chalkboard, I have to stop typing and press on my hand to make the "heebie jeebies" feeling go away.
Ewwwww! I hope the heebie jeebies go away soon! I know what you mean. I had hand surgery once. Yucky feeling!
When do you find out the results of the lab work?

I have no idea when I'll find out the results. I'm sure if it was anything serious they'd let me know right away, but if it's nothing I don't know if they'll even call.

It's always good to call and just check up on them. It's even a better idea to get a copy of them.
