...PLEASE help me name my new puppy!!! I have been trying to choose a name for him for weeks, lol! I've never had such trouble naming a dog:rolleyes: I don't want the usual "chocolate" names, either. I know a name is just a matter of taste, but nothing I try is just right.

Here's what I have it down to: Phineas (Phin) Anybody seen the Phineas and Ferb cartoons? My grandsons love it, and that's certainly not a name you hear every day, lol! It's my favorite choice, but of course Mike HATES it:rolleyes: Then I have Tucker, Quincy, Teddy (they look so much like a bear) and Shiner...Mikes favorite because it's a Texas made beer:p

Ok Ladies, PLEASE play the name game with me:D

Have you gone to the baby name sites online? That's what I usually do. I have always liked the name Tanner, but never got a chance to use it. Most of the time I wait to see what kind of personality the puppy has...that usually helps alot.

There's a guy up here who named his dog "River." I like that. Another friend has an "Elvis," which I think is fabulous. I stick with "Beau."

And I'll chip in with the name Kipper. Have you ever seen the British cartoon Kipper the Dog? Cutest dog ever!

I love Phineas too. Shiner is pretty cute too. How about naming him Texas? We named a cat Austin because we love living in Austin so much.

Max is a good name. And I like Tanner Too.

Maybe something will happen and you'll know the perfect name. When we got Rowdy, we didn't know what to name him either. We had him at home with us and couldn't decide on the perfect name.

Then Gary ended up in the hospital and before he could go home, he had to walk down the hall. The nurse was helping him with his IV poles, etc, and she turned around and said to Gary, "Come on Rowdy, let's go".

Gary and I looked at each other and said, "That's IT" And that's how Rowdy got his name. It is so ironic though, because it fits him perfectly!

I'm hoping something like that will happen, Gayle. That's what I want...a "that's it" name!

I like the candy names Diana...cute! I also like Kirby and Clancy.

Now my grown niece tells me that Kirby is a great name for a girl, but a little "fruity" for a boy:rolleyes: I'm thinking about Packer, since he is from Wisconsin- home of the Green Bay Packers.

Mike suggested that, too. I don't know why I haven't been able to make a decision about this. It's very unlike me:rolleyes:

Now my son says it can't be Packer because "it means something else, Mom" Geez... I'm naming him Kirby. I really like it, and Mike likes it ok, and ya'll like it :)

Just one more suggestion although I really like Kirby. Since he will be a therapy dog and people will be really happy to see him, why not name him Happy. You could say, "Here comes Happy"!

Nope. Not just Seattle. I've heard that slang before, but I didn't think about it at all till you mentioned your son said Packer had an alternative meaning. LOL!

Janet
