My brother's coworker and his family need some prayers. Steve is such a good friend to my brother and is such a nice guy, willing to help out anyone. He volunteered his truck and helped me move into my condo without a second thought last year. He and his wife, Di, are both so friendly and always say hi to me and make conversation when we see them out at different functions.

Steve's dad has had cancer for the past couple of years. He is only in his 50's. I have attended a couple of fundraisers for him in the past year. It is amazing the number of people who have turned out for the fundraisers, so you know that they are a very well known and well loved family.

On August long weekend every year, my brother and all of his friends come out to our cabin. This year, Steve's dad was in the hospital, and Steve and Di did not want to come. His dad convinced them they should go. So they headed out on Friday, with Steve's brother as well. They got a call Friday night that he took a turn for the worst and was in pallative care. They came back to the city first thing Saturday morning. I have not heard if he passed yet or not, and neither has my family. But either way, they all need some prayers right now.

I'm so sorry - 50's is just too young to leave. It is so hard!

Thank you for the prayers. I saw my brother last night and asked about his friend's dad... he is still alive but the doctors don't think he even has a week left to live. It is pretty bad. :(

Thanks for all the prayers everyone. He is still holding on. Steve is basically living there at the hospital, but the rest of his family can't be bothered to visit much which is really really sad :(

Yes, it's sad that people can't wait but you know, they have jobs and such that they have to keep up on. I'm sure that they would prefer to be there but life just doesn't allow it. Steve is a good son by staying with his father but I'm sure the others will be there as soon as they're needed.
