I don't remember if I posted about this, but I am really upset about what is going on with NYU Dental College where I am having my teeth done!
Long story short....a year and 1/2 ago, one of my implants broke. They designed a whole new plan for my bottom teeth. I'm still waiting for my permanent top teeth.
(I'm not walking around toothless - I have temps). The dentist in charge of my case told the dentist not to charge me for the bottom work at all. I paid for the top work in 2005.
This year, they have a new office manager, and I guess she questioned my contract. He now told my dentist to charge me, and when I spoke to him, he mentioned a $10,000 charge!!!!
I'm waiting for him to speak with the head dentist next week, and then will probably have to go down and speak with him myself. I am NOT having all of the work they planned done. I only need 5 teeth done on the bottom, and the top permanent teeth. He said something about $800/crown, which would make it $4000. I will try to talk them down as much as possible. I want the work done as quickly as possible, and then I am done and will never go back there again.
This has been going on since 1997, has cost me thousands of dollars, and I have had enough! I just want to finish up. I hate to finish up on a bad note, but I surely am. If he had not told me it was free of charge to begin with, I would have had to pay something and deal with it, but to reneg on that is just amazing to me.
There is nothing I can do about it either, since I did not get it in writing. You live, you learn!!!
