I know it has been forever since I've been here, but I wanted to share my news with you!

Even though we thought it was not possible, Brendon and I are expecting! Little Aiden should arrive around the end of March. We are ecstatic! We've been busy preparing his room and learning as much as possible. :)

I hope you all are doing well! Feel free to find me on FB if you want to see more about Aiden!

Thanks Lindsay and Betsi. :)

JJJ, nice to meet you! The bedding is super cute. I'm posting a photo along with one of our early ultrasounds and a baby bump pic. This has been such a fun experience and it keeps getting better and better! I'm excited for what the future holds.

Hi Angie. Nice to meet you. You look just beautiful! Congratulations on your new baby! Your bedding choice is exactly like my 7 month old grandson Ryan's. Can't wait to learn more about Aiden!:)

I am so excited for you!!! I remember when you were feeling so awful and had such bad news about having a baby......but, God is so good and answers prayer!!!! I've been following your posts on FB about the baby and getting everything ready!! You know.....we're going to have to have LOTS of pictures when your little guy gets here so don't be such a stranger!!!!!

Paula, nice to meet you too! I'd love to see pics of your grandson's room to see how it all came together. :D I searched and searched for the "right" bedding and fell in love with the cute little monkeys and turtles. :) We ordered a ton of stuff from eBay.

Diana, that was a very difficult time for me and Brendon. I was devastated when we first got the news several years ago. The funny thing is, we had come to terms with it and were perfectly content to spend our lives together as just a married couple. We could travel whenever and wherever we wanted. We would save a ton of money. We would have more time for each other. And on and on. I graduated with my master's in May and BAM-pregnant in June. lol! We were shocked and our whole life plans changed in a moment. It was another major readjustment, but we really couldn't be happier. I think we both appreciate little Aiden even more knowing that we are so lucky to have him. :)

I have been following your "Adventures with Aiden" on fb, and am so thrilled for you both! That is a great name.

I remember when you got that bad news, and now you are having a miracle baby!
God does work in mysterious and wonderful ways.

Well let me congratulate you on your Master's too :D

I think all you needed was to be stress free.

It's funny how life works, I was trying not to get pregnant and not even birth control stop me ( 3 kidos)

I think your baby just wanted to come at the right time.

Hey Angie! We found alot of stuff to match the bedding such as a wall pic, lamps and I can't remember everything but we found it at Babies R Us. Look online...I'm sure you probably already have lol! I'm so happy for you and your hubby!:)

Thank you! The Master's program was a blast and I was sad to graduate, but I still keep in contact with my classmates. It was a wonderful experience!

I agree about the stress. We ended up getting pregnant during the time in our lives when we were absolutely the least stressed. I had finished school, I had applied for jobs and was waiting to hear back, so no work for me, hubby was out of school for the summer so no stress for him. We were just enjoying seeing more of family and friends and each other after a year of 60+ hour work weeks--between school, internship, and GA...and that's not even counting time to do homework!

Congrats on your three little ones. I'm sure you've posted pics so I'll have to look up your threads to see them! :)

Thanks Gayle! I spend most of my online time on FB cause I have very active friends and family there who love updates on little Aiden, but I'll try to remember to post here too. Hopefully it won't get repetitive for you! lol

Paula, I noticed the monkey/turtle stuff at Babies R Us too! So far we have all the bedding, the wall decorations, the diaper hanger, a rug, a stuffed monkey, the mobile, a decorative pillow, and a blanket. There's a lot of other cute stuff there, but I might go with just solid colors for the other accessories so the theme isn't overpowering.

And...today marks 20 weeks! Halfway there. :D

Did any of you ladies ever travel while pregnant? Tomorrow I leave and will be driving about 20 hours in two days. Any suggestions to make the trip easier? I'll be doing this once a month until 32 weeks. Doc doesn't allow travel of more than 1.5 hours away at that point.

I think that you're suppose to get out and walk around every so often when you travel. That's a LOT of traveling!!!!

It's hard to believe that you're at 20 weeks!!! Little Aiden will be here before you know it!!!

Thanks for the tip Diana. The doc said the same thing today!

Here are some pics from Bren took today of the 20 week bump...even though it's still not very big yet!

Oh how cute :)

I'm not sure about traveling but if you want to push that baby out with no problems you do need to walk alot and do some light exercise. Some stretching and squats are great. How excited you must be :D

AngieDoogles
11-15-2010, 04:31 PM
JJJ, I've definitely been trying to walk as much as possible! :)

We registered today and it was a blast! It's just so hard because neither me or hubby is very picky and we didn't want to limit friends and family in what they could buy. I'd rather they just pick stuff than me tell them what to get. We are just so lucky to have loved ones who want to help out!

Hubby is out with a friend at the wood shop (I think that's what it's called) on campus making little cutouts of Aiden's name to hang on the wall. We chose the font last night and I think it's super cute (attached photo). Since there are five letters, we're each taking one and we're giving one to my mom, brother, and sister to paint and decorate. Add a little personal touch to the room. :)

My beautiful little man has arrived! 8 lbs 6 oz, 21.5 inches and we are both doing great. Right now, he's sleeping on my lap and I couldn't be happier! It has been an amazing experience. He's absolutely perfect!

**Trying to sum things up in just a few words was harder than I imagined. Nothing I could say could express how truly amazed I am and how precious he is. Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.**

I've been looking at his pictures on FB and he is just so adorable! I'm kinda like Jessica, I can't imagine your tiny self having an 8 lb. baby!

How are your blood sugars doing now that you've had him?

DianaB

He's absolutely beautiful!!! I can understand your feelings......as I think that every new mother can. Babies are such a miracle and it's just amazing how they're formed........how every cell knows what it is to become......hands....feet.....toes....ears......It makes you think about how great God is and how awesome He is for make such precious little people!!!! Enjoy each and every moment because they grow and change soooo quickly!!! In a year they're walking and doing so much and are very independent. Snuggling and even sitting still on your lap become harder and harder to get......Trust me.....we're going through this with Dean!! I miss all of his "baby-ness"!!!

Thanks everyone! We are so lucky to have such an adorable, sweet, and laid back little guy. He hardly ever cries and loves to cuddle! Couldn't ask for a more perfect baby! :) And yes, his Nana gives him kisses all the time and loves cuddling with him. :) They are super cute together.

Gayle, the doctors haven't checked my blood sugar levels since Aiden's birth. I'll have a six week check up with the OB, but he didn't mention anything about another glucose tolerance test. Not sure if they plan on checking on that or not...

DianaB
04-17-2011, 02:38 PM
Once you have the baby your blood sugar goes back to normal. I had diabetes when I was pregnant with Jaci. It seemed funny that they monitored my blood sugar so closely then didn't check it at all once she was here.
