As I said in another post....I went to bed early...again...lol. We don't go out usually because of all the party goers....just a little dangerous. It's only 4:02 AM so I don't know if the guys made it past midnight or not.
We use to fix seafood on New Year's Eve, but didn't get it done this year either. Rick did buy some crablegs, scallops and shrimp so we're planning on having it tonight. :D
So what did you all do.....did you make it till 12:00?

We ended up staying home. Our pastor and his wife had a party that we were invited to but they went to Wichita to the Comedy Club first. Going to Wichita and back just didn't sound that appealing so we didn't go. Glen and I stayed home and watched tv. We did stay up past midnight but actually missed celebrating exactly at midnight!!! For us midnight is our bedtime so it's not that hard to stay up.

I stayed home too.
I celebrated by buying myself a new HDTV on line! Got a great price on it, I just saw it at Walmart and really liked it. It was originally $498, rolled back to $468.
Came home to check reviews and sales in other places. Great reviews and Walmart on-line had it for $399! But was sold out on-line. :(
So I decided to wait till it was back in stock on-line. Well, in checking 'my store' location, it let me order it on-line for the $399 and pick it up in the local store! :)
Happy Dance!!
Hope everyone had a very Happy and Safe New Year.
May the New Year bring us all peace, contentment, laughter and sunshine in our lifes.

Shada! You had the BEST New Year's Eve! We didn't even stay up - we were just too tired. We did get to HEAR lots of fireworks though!

Scott and I just stayed home which was my preference. We had invited some people out but never got straight answers and nobody showed up. We played some monopoly and cribbage and then got in the hot tub for the rest of the night. At midnight, we called both of our parents to say happy new years, and I texted all of my friends. I didn't get any replies! I was all down about that, telling Scott it's official... I have no friends left. I haven't been out with anyone in a long time, but not even a text? So I was feeling sorry for myself! Around 12:25 we were getting out of the hot tub so we could go to bed, and all of a sudden DOODLE-DO-DOODLE-DO-DOODLE-DO-DOODLE-DO-DOODLE-DO.... one after another about 15 texts came flooding in! Hahaha I guess the cell phone towers were just a little over burdened at midnight so they took awhile to come through :D I have friends after all! LOL!

Glad to know you still have your "buds" Lynsey!! lol!
Well..I didn't do anything really exciting either. I have had two of my gkids since noon Friday. We made homemade spaghetti and meatballs...it was so good. My gkids said they were the best meatballs that they had ever eaten:D They are 10 and 8...I just wander how many that they have actually tried??lol! Anyways we have had a pretty good time except for last night, Morgan got an earache around 9 or 10 pm and I was up with her until 6:30 this morning:thumbdwn: She was in so much pain!! But here it is 11:25 am and she is still sound asleep..I wouldn't wake her up for anything.
We did stay up on New Years Eve and watch the ball drop but that was pretty much the jist of it!! Happy New Year GF's!! Sounds like we all chose to just stay home and be safe this year!!:)
Great buy on the tv Shada!!:p

Mike and I usually get dressed up and go out to dinner with my brother and sil. Jim and Teresa. But Mike is still at the ranch hunting so we went without him:p It is the 1st time in 37 years that we haven't spent New Years Eve together! I did stay up until midnight, but I was in bed talking/texting with my kids and reading:)

We stayed home. We did have Karen & Carlton, Garrett & Melissa and Carlton's mom and nephew over. We had hot tamales, chili, chips and dips and played chicken foot dominoes. We all pooped out about 10:30 and Carlton's mom and nephew went home. The rest of us just sat around for a while. Carlton decided to go see a friend real quick who owed him some money, and took the guy joy riding in his car to show him what it could do. Carlton has a '99 Pontiac Formula (TransAm) that he's supped up, and that's what they traveled here in from California, against everyone's better judgment but his. Well, he had it up at 6800 RPM's and blew the transmission. A flywheel flew off and knocked the starter off the engine and cut the transmission line and created a fire ball that burned up all the wiring on the engine and blew a hole in the right fender. We got a call that he needed help at 15 minutes till midnight, so our New Year's rang in towing his car to our house. Karen was very upset. They were supposed to leave the next day to drive back to Cali, so we spent the wee hours of New Years online finding them plane tickets to fly home Sunday morning. We got up at 2 a.m. to drive them to Austin to catch the only flight available to Palm Springs that day.
Karen's stomach was upset, but we thought it was all the stress. Little did we know she was 2 months pregnant.
What a New Years!!! One to remember for sure!!!

Gayle, the damage was so extensive, that it's not worth fixing. He has a friend who needs to drive a trailer from here to San Diego to pick up a car, so he's going to get him to take his car to California for him and he's going to "part-it-out". In other words, he's going to sell parts from it to maximize his return. It's worth more in parts now than as a whole car.
Before the blow out, he was already planning to part-it-out when they returned to Cali. He has also picked up an abandoned truck for free that he is filing for a title for that he can trade with a buddy for a blazer that is worth considerably more that he was going to sell. With the income from the two vehicles, his plan was to buy a used Corvette, but....now that they are expecting, he says no more "toys". He's going to bank the money from his car adventures. He figures he may be able to get his Vet when he's in his 40's. Boys will indeed be boys!!!
