View Full Version : Good offer

My manager has recognized that I'm not real keen on working as a teller. I'm fine at keeping my drawer and the vault balanced, so that part I don't mind. Yet I do much better at public relations and fitting our products to the needs of our customers than I do remembering which ticket to use for which transaction.

So I have been made an attractive offer. :D
My manager has offered to jump in as needed on the teller line if I will take over the PR and sales for the office! This sounds like the ideal to me, as I really enjoy talking with people and finding ways to help them with their finances.

Now I just have to OUT-sell him and we're off! :D

Please cross your fingers for me! I'd love to jump up the ladder to doing what I'm better at, so need to do it well real soon. LOL

Thanks ladies!
I had my first error free day at the bank today.
I also made some sales calls and ended up setting an appointment for my manager that he was excited about.
He paid me a nice compliment today, telling me that I already have him beat in knowing and interacting with our customers. :)
Since I was born and raised in this town, (pop 1400) I know a large percentage of the people who come to our bank. Those I don't know, I'm going out of my way to build relationships with. Several have come in and discovered me working there and told my manager that they're glad to see he's snagged me to work there. It really helps to know your customers! Since I've sold real estate and insurance here and then worked on the ambulance service for 4 years besides, I've gotten involved with a lot of different families in one way or another.

Right now I'm excited to step more into my comfort area and do what I truly enjoy. We have a part-time teller starting next week which will free me up to work more on other things. I'm really looking forward to that!

It's really nice to have you all to chat with about this! I appreciate your support and encouragement. HUGS

That is just great news Tink!!! I'm so glad you are able to do what you enjoy the most. It's wonderful too, that you already have contacts, to help move you up the ladder to whatever level you want to achieve.

I've always told my son, no matter what, be nice to people...some day you may work for them, or need their kind words to help further your career. You certainly are one of the nicest ones!!!!:)
