I have tried several brands, but I always come back to Laura Mercier. Her makeup makes my face look flawless! I love it!!!!!!!!!

I just use Avon, Mascara and blush only. Don't like the looks of foundation on my face. I like for my skin to breathe. But on other people I think it looks great. It's just not for me.

I don't use foundation either. Just powder, blush, eye shadow, eyeliner and mascera. However, my eyeshadow and mascera come from Walmart! :p :p :p I have Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner and it stays on ALL freaking day! You can even swim in the stuff and it won't come off. I love it!

I don't wear makeup very often. Driving a bus...really no need. I do if we go out and to church, special occasions. I usually use Covergirl foundation and powder, Revlon mascara, Maybelline or Loreal shadows. Would really like to go to one of the department stores and try Clinque products sometime.

I'm like you, Janet. I don't usually wear makeup unless I'm going to church or some other dress up thing.

I perspire so badly, especially in the summer, but also in the winter if I'm doing something strenuous. Got that from Dad's side of the family. I wish there was some way to not perspire so badly, but I've done this since I was really young.
So embarassing at times.:) So it doesn't really do me any good to wear makeup most of the time.

I like Clinique. :p
I'm not a fan of wearing makeup, so keep it light. I tan well, but have a pink complexion and dark blonde hair, so avoid really dark eye makeup.
I do feel I have to wear some for work, so use a very thin line of brown eyeliner on my upper lid only, a dab of blush and a light coat of black/brown mascara; and occassionally a bit of brown eye shadow. At 51, I've developed some light wrinkles and don't see anything to be gained by accenting them. LOL
I've always had sensitive skin, so avoided heavy makeup rather than risk a break out. I'm not a big fan of jewelry either, but do wear a watch and sometimes a necklace if the neckline of my blouse calls for one.

I use maybelline mascara, covergirl eyeliner (I'm going to try that revlon eyeliner...I have to reapply a couple of times a day) I use physicians formula bronzer, and what ever lip color is on sale...I buy all my make up at wal mart too...I tried the expensive stuff and I don't care for it....I think the cheap stuff works just as well.

I have never used eyeliner. I don't know if I would know how to use it or if it would even look good on me. I've seen there are so many kinds, how do you choose? I've seen the liquid, kinda of a cake like, and a pencil type.

I use the kind that you have to roll up from the bottom. It is not liquid, but it is not a hard pencil either. It is more like a crayon. When I don't wear eyeliner, people tell me that I look like I'm either really tired or sick, and then I say, No, I'm just not wearing eyeliner today. :p :p :p For some people, like me, it makes their eyes look bigger. For some people, it makes their eyes look smaller. I use a taupe color eyeliner on the top and none on the bottom. It makes my eyes look smaller when I use it on the bottom. I so use mascera on the bottom, though.
I absolutely hate wearing makeup. I wear it everyday to work and on Sundays to church, and on the weekends if we go out with friends, but whenever I have a chance not to wear makeup, I don't.

I'm in a position where I sell to men. I don't use sex to sell, but I have to look nice. Even though I dress conservatively, I do have guys make passes at me from time to time. It can be very uncomfortable. Well back to makeup, I used to use the expensive stuff, Estee Lauder & Clinique but have found that MaxFactor Lasting Performance Foundation, Covergirl Powder, Covergirl perfect point plus eyeliner (Janet, you might try Covergirl's 215 Grey Khaki it's a good color for redheads), Maybelline mascara, Maybelline lipstick & whatever blush and eye shadow work just fine & no one knows the difference. I like the convenience of being about to buy it anywhere 24 hours a day. Someone told me years ago that MaxFactor makes Estee Lauder, and I believe it. Their packaging colors and feel are very similiar. The MaxFactor foundation is the same color as the Estee Lauder that I used, just a little thinner in consistency, but for the huge difference in price, I don't mind is being a little thinner.
Also, I use bronze tones on the eyeshadow so it goes with anything. Much simpler when getting ready in the morning.

I use covergirl EVERYTHING. For the past few months I've been using their whipped foundation and I like it so much, it blends really easily and it feels so light. I also use a bit of eyeshadow, pencil liner, and lashexact mascara.
Janet - if you're not sure about using eyeliner, you can also just buy an eyeliner brush, and use it with eyeshadow! It's just a fine-tipped brush, and you can make the line subtle by using it dry, or get a defined line by wetting the tip before putting it in the shadow.

You ladies have been so helpful. With these suggestions, I just may start wearing makeup a little more often. It does make me feel better, look better, I don't know..LOL There are quite a few products mentioned here that I would love to try. :)
The eyeliner I use is "Colorstay liquid liner" by Revlon. It comes with a soft tipped brush that's a bit like a marker, but dips in the liquid like nail polish. The brush is ver slim on the end so I can put it on in a very thin line. For someone who's as make-up UNsavvy as I am, it works well. The color I use is called Bronze brown, so it's not real dark, which is a more natural look with my coloring.

Hello, abaddon248, great to have you here. We learned a lot from some of these threads. I found out about Laura Mercier makeup and have used the face primer, base and concealer ever since. They are great products!!!
My daughters use the Bare Minerals, but personally, they just don't work well for me. The powder settles in my fine lines and makes me look older. For young people, it seems to work well though.
Hope you stay around and get to know all of us. We have a really great group here!!!
I agree with Marilyn, I like Laura Mercer the best the bare minerals I don't care for. Happy you joined us!!!

I LOVE Bare Minerals - wouldn't use anything else. Been using it for over 10 years now. It is perfect for the hot Texas summers - you don't feel a thing. My 12 year g-daughter, 32 year old daughter, and 86 year old mom ALL use Bare Minerals!!! We should buy stock! LOL!
I tried the Bare Minerals. They just give my face no life. I don't like the powdery look on me.
I don't like foundation or powder on my skin. Right now I'm using some kind of collagen, wrinkle taker outer that's pretty good, but I may go back to a moisturizer
(generic Cetaphil) for the winter. I use blush, eye shadow, and Lancome mascara
when I want to look good. I have the eyeliner already tatooed (sp?) and I thrown on some lipstick.

I use clinque eyeliner and mascara, but whenever I buy it I make sure I get the free gift, so I guess I use pretty much clinique everything. The eyeliner is so nice, it glides right on. The mascara is awesome, it stays moist and does not flake off.

My daughter just bought the mascara and she too, says it is amazing and doesn't come off. I guess she is right! I bought some on her recommendation and put it on (I never wear it anymore cuz I hate raccoon eyes) and I forgot about it for TWO DAYS! Sure enough, most of it was still on and best of all, I'd had no raccoon eyes!!! :D

I love Prescriptives. I've been using it for probably five or more years. Elaine
I just switched to Olay Total Effects - Mature Skin Therapy. It sounds really depressing doesn't it? It's nice though. I like the feel of it and it kind of gives a nice glow.
I have to try that Clinique mascara. Lancome dries and does become brittle.

Hi Judy, I read your post where you said you had your eyeliner tatooed on. Did you have both upper and lower lids done? How long has it lasted? A girl from work had it done but the lower lids did not last. What a time saver in the morning!

It's wonderful. It saves so much time. I have mine for about 2 years, maybe 2 1/2. It hurts like h*** I have the lipliner too. It's very faint now, which is good because it's not in style anymore. If I could, I would have all my makeup tattooed on and never think about it again.

Judy, I didn't know you had it tatooed on...ouch is right!!! I bet that hurt like well...you know what!!! :O
I haven't used eyeliner hardly ever, but the other day...I decided to try it. I didn't do too bad for not having much practice at it. I'm wanting to go to Merle Norman to get their eyebrow stuff. It's waterproof and does not come off easily while perspiring. I don't have much eyebrow and a friend put some of hers on me and it looked really nice.

I can certainly relate to the eyebrow thing...I have really scarce eyebrows....you can have those tatooed on too! I've never had a tatoo anywhere but just the time it would save!!!! Anyway, I'd love to know about the Merle Norman waterproof stuff...it takes a long time to try and fill mine in enough to make them look natural!
