your significant other could do for you?
To be honest, I'd be happy just to come home to a house that's all picked up and maybe a little supper on the stove. I don't ask for much. Can't remember the last time I received flowers from him...wait a minute...in the 6 years we've been together, I've only received flowers from him ONCE.
Anywho, what about you guys? What do you consider romantic?

Brian is the most romantic talker. His actions are romantic too, but he always tells me the sweetest things. He whispers I love you at night all of the time. He calls to check on me throughout the day. He propsed by tying a ribbon(and my ring) around Lola's neck. He brings me flowers. However, to me the most romantic thing he does, is to be a good father to Lola. He snuggles her and whispers I love you to her too. He also tells me how happy he is to just spend time at home with his "family." Mommy, Lola, and Daddy.

The most romantic thing has already been done! For our 9th anniversary (almost 12 years ago), hubby took me out to dinner at a restaurant that overlooked the MS River - beautiful! We left there and I thought we were headed to one of the casino's for a little bit before heading back home to the boys (sitter had them). We left the restaurant and the next thing I knew, he pulled into the parking lot of one of the antebellum homes here in Vicksburg called Cedar Grove (my favorite as it reminds me of Tara from GWTW and all the rooms and suites are named after characters from the movie). He had gotten a suite for us for the night, had already packed a bag for me and taken it earlier to the room. I was totally suprised!! He had arranged for the sitter to stay the night with the boys. It was a very romantic and wonderful surprise:) He hasn't done anything to top that since!

I"ve got the best hubby in the world! He is ALWAYS bringing me flowers and doing thoughtful things for me. He creates lovey-dovey messages, prints them out on the computer and posts them for me to find. For special occasions they are all over the house!
The best though... he started painting pictures for fun, and for the last 3 Valentines Days he has painted me these wonderfully colorful pictures with lots of hearts on them. (I'm not saying the paintings are that good, ;) but to me they are priceless!)

This is pretty cheesey, and I don't even know that one would consider it "romantic" lol but my husband actually left work and came home because I called him crying after getting in a (verbal) fight with my sister. He was patient and understanding and listened to me the whole entire time on the phone while I was whining and crying lol. He didn't even mention to me that he was coming home. I was sitting on the couch still crying talking to a friend when he walked in the door, sat down by me, and just hugged me. He said that he just couldn't stay at work knowing that I was home alone by myself and so upset. Forget the diamonds and candlelit dinners, THAT'S what I call romantic! ;)

Just thought of a couple cute things Brian did for me. Once when I was sick,(we probably had been dating for a month and a half,) he sent me this big beautiful flower arrangement. We dated long distance, so it was so sweet that he thought of me. Another time, I was having a horrific day. I had yelled at Brian on the phone and I took it out on him even though it had nothing to do with him. I came home and I was telling my friends about it when my roommate Katie came down the stairs with a dozen beautiful roses. Brian had called her and asked her to buy the flowers for me(he payed for them of course.) He knew I was having a rough day and wanted to cheer me up. I burst in to tears because clearly I did not deserve them at that moment. My roommmate started to cry too. Isn't love Grand!!

As a matter of fact, today my husband and I are leaving for a romantic getaway. He surprised me by booking a cabin that we stayed at on our wedding night. ;)
(once I get off here I gotta go pack)
Years ago while dating he shot off a HUGE heart shaped firework while I worked in a 5 story building. He called and said "Look out your window". He had me at that moment for sure!! It was very early morning and still dark outside, it was incredible!!

I read (I think on YT) that people express love in different ways.
1-Physical (not in a sexual way)--holding hands, patting back, rubbing leg, kissing forhead ect..
2-Verbal-- Saying I love you, telling them how you feel, talking about it ect...
3-Doing things-- i.e. being "Romantic" Small gifts, favorite meals, cleaning for them, ect...
Some people think that they are not being told they are loved because they expect the person to do it the way they do it. Most of the time women want it done in a "doing things" kind of way, while most men are physical.
For example I am totally a "doing thing" person while my hubby is "physical" person. I am not one to hold hands, but I will give little gifts, treats, and cards to him. My hubby used to not see that was how I was showing him that I loved him. All he saw was that I didn't want to hold hands all the time. When we went through pre-marital counseling before we got married, it totally clicked for us!! We were like "Oh!!!"
Now we can both see that the other person is showing love and affection and we both work on being more what the other person wants us to be, because that is how they "feel" it.

I came home from work one evening and my husband had draped the chandelier in the kitchen with wisteria in full bloom! It started at the ceiling, came down the chain, and went out to all the light bulb fixtures. It smelled heavenly! He had a clear bowl in the middle of the table and had floated gardenia blossoms in it. He also had dinner ready!
