Diana & Janet - Alright...I went into the craft box and dug out a few cards that I have. I took pics and am posting them in the "my picture" section, LOL.

Diana - I will make you a new one this week and send it to you. I hope you'll like it. :p

Janet 12-01-2007 01:37 PM

I'm heading to the 'my pictures' section now. Can't wait to see them...are cards hard to make?

Not too hard, mainly just time consuming as I'm so darn slow at it. I think the hardest for me are "man" cards. :D (so i don't make too many of those)

So far we have 5" of snow and more is falling. The prediction is for 3" more before it turns to sleet/freezing rain.

Greg made it home last night, and we have no intention of going anywhere. Joel and Shannon are here, Josh and Katie are here, and Doug arrived just a bit ago. He had a tough time getting 16 miles with a 4 wheel drive pick up.

I suggested that since we had so much help, now would be a good time to decorate for Christmas at which time everyone scattered as much as was possible in a small house with this many people in it. LOL

Josh and Katie made tacos for us, so I didn't have to cook which was nice.

The drive tomorrow for Paiges bday party is still in question... but I don't plan of taking any major risks. If it's terrible out, she will just have to wait a few more days for her gifts.

RIght now we're all safe and plan to keep it that way.

That's sooo much snow Tink, WOW! :snow: What a great idea to gather everyone up and get that Christmas decorating done. Perfect idea!

And....to top it off ya didn't even have to cook. Awesome!

Keep it safe and DON'T forget to run out and make a snow man in your spare time. HahahahHahAAhhaaha :snowman:

You guys stay in where it's nice and warm AND safe. I'd get them busy decorating. Could be really fun with everyone helping.

I just got home from the party - all the goodies went over with great success! Thank you! I met lots of great folks, made some new friends and made it home in one piece - all in all, a good time! Merry Christmas!

Janet 12-02-2007 05:07 AM

Tink, I just caught the news this morning and it showed the awful mess you guys have up there in Wisconsin. I told my hubby I had a friend there and had told us it was coming. He wanted to know where exactly, but I couldn't remember if you had said. Can you say on an open forum what city you're near?

This morning when I woke up, after the sleet and rain yesterday, it was 50 degrees at 6:30 AM. Can't believe it. Sure wish it could stay this way, but this afternoon rain is moving in and the temps are going to drop again.

Hope it clears that you can go to the birthday party today.

My positive is I was well enough to get quite a bit of my shopping and some of my cleaning done yesterday. I plan on finishing the cleaning and put up the tree today.
Maybe I can get some more shopping in too. I have bought some things online. A lot easier for me this year than trying to look for everything.

Glad you are in and safe Tink. Brendon says he can't get in the Christmas mood without snow but I am fine without it. A little on Christmas eve would be nice.

katepoet 12-02-2007 08:07 AM

Great to hear, Debbie. Last night I met two women I'd been hearing about for months - one fighting ovarian and the other breast cancer. One of them is not far from you in treatment. She not only had on a purple cap, but she had tied the prettiest scarf around it for Christmas cheer. She was so much a part of the party, it was great to be around her. Thanks for sharing some of your struggles here, I felt more able to ask the right questions and cheer her on because of it.

I made it to the party today and took Joel, Shannon and Katie with me.
We got to go in a hot tub, a pool, and had a nice supper together.
Paige was thrilled to get her stable and corral from her Papa and I.
Her Mamas bday is in 5 days, so I also took her gift along. My brother and his dw also have birthdays in the next week so I got to deliver their gifts to them as well.

We all had a nice time. The roads weren't great, but I only slid around one time and have to admit that was the fault of my lead foot. lol

Greg had to leave for Kansas City, so didn't get to go with us, but he called and wished Paige a happy birthday so she understood.

I'm glad to be back home. But very glad we were able to go

Janet, I'm mid-way between Lacrosse and Eau Claire WI just 1/2 mile off of Hwy 53.
Our little village is too small to be found on most maps. :) The nearest town is Whitehall... which is the county seat and has about 1600 people.

DianaB 12-02-2007 08:49 PM

Tink, I'm glad that you "weathered" the storm so well. I was worried about you when I looked at the weather map. It looks like your electricity stayed on!!

Kate, I'm glad that all of your little goodies were a success at your party! It sounds like you had a good time.

Janet 12-03-2007 08:59 AM

Glad everything worked out for you weatherwise Tink. I just saw on this morning news that Maine is expected to get 20 inches of snow....I would pack up and head south for sure!

My positive for the day is my son told me he'd be careful before I had a chance to say anything to him..lol He's learning.

Janet 12-05-2007 09:25 AM

Positive for today is my son is okay after sliding his car into a ditch.

Hopefully he's also learned from this experience.
