My prayers are with you all, Diana.

Thank you.

The funeral went well. Our pastor did the speaking and he did a very nice job. It was nice to finally see Damon and let him know how sorry I was for the loss of his mother. I know that it was so hard for him. The only thing that I wasn't pleased about was that Margaret had asked for the song "Prop me up beside the juke box" to be played at her funeral. I would have assumed that she was joking but.......nope, it was played. I was glad that it wasn't actually during the service but was played after the funeral service.

It does seem a sort of strange song for a funeral, but if it's what she wanted...what's it hurt.

I'm glad other than the song everything went well for the service. I feel so bad for Damon. I bet Karlie was sure glad to have her dad with her for a little while wasn't she? Will continue to keep DaeLynn and you all in my prayers.

Going to have to youtube that song.

What seems wrong to someone might be a way to heal someone else so I wouldn't worry about it much. I'm happy to hear everything went well and hopefully theirs a little closure.

Glad that Damon went, I'm sure it did help Karlie.

I'm glad the service is done, and went relatively well. I'm with you Diana, surely she was kidding about that song at her funeral. I've heard lots of people say that about certain songs, but you know they really don't mean it. Mike said he wants Precious Memories played right at the end of his funeral because that song makes everybody cry! My crazy husband:rolleyes:

That's so good that the funeral and service went well, Diana, and that it is all over!

"Prop me up beside the jukebox???" Who knows what goes on in people's heads.

I have a list of songs to be played at my funeral, but they are Amazing Grace, Hallaluah, etc. I do have a Janis Joplin song in thre, and at least one Eric Clapton though.

Now that's a funeral I would attend too. Really show who the person really was.
