Wow, nice pic!!! We don't have pretty birds like that at feeders around here. If we see something like that it's really rare. We have cardinals nesting in the summer, and meadowlarks with yellow bellies on the prairies. We see some birds like robins and blue birds, but they are only here for a couple of days as they are passing through. It's supposed to get up to 80 degrees today, so there is lots of food still around for them. Bird feeders aren't the attraction that they are where you are.
We do have lots of hummingbirds in the fall. You can attract hundreds with a few feeders, but keeping the feeders full and clean can be a real effort. They can suck even a big one dry in a day or two. |
Sheryl,
How long has this woodpecker been coming around? You said he made a hole in the deck. He really should be considered family at this point. That's a great shot, by the way. |
Wow grat picture! Maybe we will have an early spring.

No, I don't think so Diana!!!  I love my Mother but going to Florida with her would not be a good idea...lol The last time I went to her place in Florida, Ricky was just a toddler and it was just him and I. The last time we went to Florida as a family was when Ricky was about 4 or 5 years old.
Now it's hard to go anywhere because of the doggies. Can get expensive to board, (which I wouldn't want to do) or to get a dog sitter. |
