Living in NYC, I found that cell phone conversations (unless it's very important, like yours Gayle, or to check on the children, etc.) were so totally inconsiderate that I was waiting for a gadget that cuts off reception. I had heard that there was something like that had come out, but I could never find it.
I have no interest in anyone's gall bladder condition, how their f****** (their language, not mine) boyfriend/husband/sister, etc. was going to get their f'n head cut off if they didn't stop their f'n whatever. I also didn't want to hear the menu for dinner of the woman sitting next to me, nor the business transaction the guy at the next table in a restaurant was conducting. I NEVER wanted to hear any cell hone conversation at the movies, and yet, I did! I could go on and on. I could not believe how clueless most people are about consideration and etiquette, and the fact that there are actually other people besides them inhabiting this planet.
Up here, we don't get reception in many places. It's so nice!!! I do not see people walking around with that stupid phone on their ear all the time. I cancelled my service and got a prepaid. Only Jessie has the number. I don't ever have it with me - It lives in the car and is usually dead. I have an adapter if I need to use it.
Diana, Maybe it is time for you to go over to Janet's to see the new babies.
You could tell Jaci and Glen that it's to get away from their constant cell phone use, and have a good time at Janet's.
