Nope, haven't tried that. If I do, I'll definitely give you a report and if you try it, let me know. On the triple-sec, if I have it, I use it but if I don't, I really don't miss it. I use the sugar to "cut" some of the tartness of the drink. I prefer mine over ice when I'm at a restaurant but if I make them at home, I always make frozen - hmm - wonder why??? No rhyme or reason, just do. I'll have to try mine on the rocks next time I make some. Oh, and one of my all time fav songs - "Jose Cuervo, You Are A Friend of Mind" by, I think, Shelly West. Now I'm gonna be singing that tune in my head all day :p

Ooooooooooooo...I have THE BEST Margarita recipe EVER! It sounds strange, but it is seriously THE BEST!

2 cans of Minute Maid frozen limeade mix (I attached a pic bc I really didn't know how to explain this)

1 Corona beer

Sprite

Tequila

Mix together the minute maid, beer, and sprite and tequila to taste. Put in the freezer until frozen. It doesn't freeze all the way because of the alcohol, but it makes it all slushy and yummy! This is seriously THE BEST Margarita Recipe! YUMMY!

My MIL gave me this recipe and it threw me off a little too at first, but after I tried it, I didn't give it a second thought. You can't even taste the beer. I think it balances the margs out and makes them not so sweet. I don't like margs that are super sweet and I think that is what the beer does.

Been on a big vodka kick lately. Try Raspberry stoli & lemonade, make the lemonade strong & add a bit of suger. Chill overnight

To improve strawberry magaritas use Jose, regular strawberry margarita mix, then add a tablespoon or two of strawberry jam blend well.

Wine: I'm a cheap wine girl, I love turning leaf chardonnay or pinot gricio (sp), the ecco domani pinot gricio is also nice. Not a red wine drinker.

Blueberry is a little tougher. I'd try it with sprite.

I also think it might be good if you mixed it with a mixed berry punch or raspberry koolaid.

Something that might be good is Blueberry stoli, raspberry stoli, strawberry stoli, mix together add splash of cranberry & sprite & then you have a berry drink that with mess you up.

Blueberry with ice cream & milk, topped with whipped cream

Disclaimer: I've never tried any of these things I'm just trying to think of what might be good. Make in small doses then try.

Emmsmom 09-14-2006 09:53 AM

I am not big on mixed drinks. I do love Red and White wines and I am a sucker for Michelob Light!

They have strawberry in the smirnoff kind. Blueberries & cream would be good.

To top off the drunk fruit coppler add a little vanilla stoli too.

You got it I am the mixed drink queen. I just have never gotten a taste for beer & I found out in college I had a talent for making excellent tasting drinks that would mess you up in a hurry.

Kimberley 09-14-2006 02:30 PM

WOWSERS! From Alcohol to food recipes. ANYWHO, I'm a beer drinker (bud lite)...don't drink very often...who has the time anymore...

Sherry Lynn 09-14-2006 07:04 PM

I"m a LUSH!!!:p And I've worked bartending and catering so I can give you all kinds of ideas...

Stoli is my favorite, and the blueberry is awsome. Some fresh blueberries, Stoli and ice is very efficient! You can also make a Blueberry Mojito (I think someone posted a recipe above) just use blueberries instead of limes.

Something else that is romantic and delicious is a Chocolate Martini. You can Google it and get tons or ideas, but my favorite is...
Equal parts Godiva Chocolate Liquour and Vanilla Stoli and a generous splash of Kahlua. Shake over ice until well chilled, pour into a martini glass, and BAM!!!!! Swirling some Hershey's syrup in the glass before you pour makes for a nice presentation as well as some chocolate shavings sprinkled on top...

Champagne and strawberries is also a good romantic libation. If you want French Champagne Moet Chandon White Star is one of my favorites and it isn't that expensive. (Around $40 a bottle here in Jersey.) But something that is just as good and about half the price is Chandon Sparkling Wine (the Reserve with the black lable is my favorite). It is made by the same people using the same method, but can't be labled as Champagne because it doesn't come from the Champagne region of France. Since there is no import tax, it's a lot cheaper, too!

Have fun!!!

If you mix pucker with zyma you get a very tasty very alcholic drink. It makes the pucker not quite as sweet & makes zyma taste like something.
