I hired Sally as a file clerk 12 years ago and we have "stayed in touch", but I haven't seen her more than 3 times in the last 5 or 6 years. I am definitely not accusing her of doing this, but I'm still watching her.

Janet 08-26-2009 04:35 PM

I think I'd watch her too. Ya just never know anymore....sad isn't it?

She is acting very suspicious. It's funny that it was several of your friends that were hit. I'd be keeping my eye on her too.

I guess you really can't definitely accuse her, but I would block her from FB, email, and any others.

Is the FBI going to get in touch with you, or is their investigation a general one?
I would give her name to them and what she had to say if they contacted me. Just saying......

lovePINK 09-03-2009 09:26 PM

wow, thats scary...I heard a couple weeks ago hackers got into FB and into twitter, I got out imm. when news came on and said that!...

You can make another account, and if it comes up that email is already in use, you can change it to new account deleting the old, I think!..if you think they got into your mail too I would print out all your contacts and make a new email addy..better to be safe than sorry....

We had someone get ahold of my debit card number and pin a few weeks ago, and dont know how or when it happened, I guess it happened with alot of ppl in Knoxville too, secret service is envolved so hopefully it is over for us...

Good luck, to you! I hope you can get it all straightened out!

Tiramisu 09-25-2009 04:55 AM

I'm really enjoying Facebook. Yes, I've gotten addicted to Farmville, Farm Town, and Island Paradise, not to mention the quick games available. I got a treat this morning that one of my high school classmates found me (Pitkin High School Class of 1969)!

DianaB 09-25-2009 08:03 AM

Isn't it wonderful to have people from your past find you on FB? I've had a few surprises like that too. We don't have much to say to each other but it's still pretty cool!!!

I haven't gotten into any games on FB. I spend so much time on the computer that I just can't get into the games. Sometimes I have hubby standing over me with a frown or he's mumbling......not good signs!!! (Especially when the house is messy!!)

Tiramisu 09-25-2009 08:31 AM

Diana, I feel like I'm "slipping around" on Harold to get on the computer at home. But, lately I'm spending more time on there.

Janet 09-25-2009 05:08 PM

I love FB too. I've found and been found by so many classmates. I didn't really run around much with anyone from my class, my best friend in school was a grade lower than I, but I was friends with most of my class. I even have the kids I babysat for on FB...lol. Now one of them has kids and one rides my bus. Great way to stay in touch.

gja1000 09-26-2009 06:28 AM

I am enjoying FB too. It is a lot of fun, and as my neice says, "it's a good time-waster"! LOL!

judy 09-28-2009 07:02 AM

I also have reconnected with a lot of people on FB, especially family. I love FB for that, but I don't go there more than once/month. If I started with FB, I would never go out!!!

Tiramisu 09-29-2009 04:59 AM

OK, I'm in addiction and game overload. I get paid to sit here at this computer 8 hours a day, 5 days a week - I can't keep going home and sitting for another 5-6 hours. I've been playing Farmville, Farm Town, Mafia, Island Paradise, and Barn Buddy. I rush in to check my crops and almost forget that it's not real. Then, there's the card games and "time killers".

I need to step away from the computer and chill out! I haven't sat on the patio, with a margarita, to watched a sunset a couple weeks. I resisted joining the invitations to join those games until my neighbors came over and razzed me about it. Yesterday, Frank drove his new tractor over to show Harold. He told me he got it from Farm Town!!!!!

I can check FB and 4WT on my IPhone, but can't get to the games, so that'll be my first discipline - no computer at home for awhile!

Janet 09-29-2009 06:46 AM

Sandy you do have it bad don't you? LOL I saw where Gina has joined FarmVille and YoVille. Pretty soon she'll need a 12-step program too!!! I will pray your withdrawal pains are not too bad.

You DO have it bad, Sandy!! That's why I haven't gotten into the games. I already spend enough time on the computer so I don't need any games. Right now I'm game-free!!!

Tiramisu 09-29-2009 07:35 AM

I'm feeling more and more that I have an addictive personality, like a co-dependency!

Lindsey 09-30-2009 06:19 AM

I confess I farm while at work, but at least I'm not the only one! The secretary and I usually hire each other to harvest each other's crops all day :D It's a nice break at least. I don't take real coffee breaks, just smaller breaks throughout the day to check email, forums, and facebook :D Thank goodness nothing is blocked here!

Tiramisu 09-30-2009 07:13 AM

OK, I need intervention! I got on before I left home this morning to check my crops! Last night, Jeff called to ask what was going on with my Farmville - everything was plowed up.

Is there a 12 step program for internet game addictions?

You're more than welcome to come here and see the REAL thing, as far as farming goes. We're in the middle of corn harvest!! The combine's going and the trucks are hauling grain. Glen wil store the grain and sell it later. You can come and help him watch the markets and see how it's REALLY done!!!

Tiramisu 09-30-2009 08:59 AM

Diana, thanks for the invite. I grew up on a little farm, hauling hay, gathering corn, milling corn, hogs, cows, quail, etc. and I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. I know your's is much larger and I would love to help through the planting and harvest.

DianaB 09-30-2009 09:11 AM

We were originally talking about FB and lately I've been really, really bored with it. It seems like nobody posts! And those that do rarely comment on your own posts. I have some friends that are kids and they post "kid stuff" that I'm really not interested in reading about. Some are family so I hate to take them off as a friend. It is nice to get in contact with friends from long ago, but there's only so much you really want to say to them. Oh well, I really don't have the time to be on there very much. House cleaning is always calling my name in the back ground. Can you hear it?

Come clean me.......Please come and put me where I belong........What if company comes.....Do you want them to see me this way?.........You folded me, now put me away.........Would you please get me painted so you can put your tools away?..........Don't you want to get me cleaned up in case Jesus comes for a visit?...........

Diana, you are so funny!!!! I know what you mean about FB. Some of my friends are dear people, but do I really need to know that you just got up, or are about to go to bed? I had to block one of my cousins. He's still my friend, but his posts don't appear on my wall. He'd post 8 or more times all day, all political stuff.

I do enjoy keeping up with most folks on there though. Even if it is just a tidbit of their life.

And Farmville is fun. I don't care for the graphics on Farmtown, but am addicted to Farmville. I've resisted all the other games. FB is blocked here at work, so I must harvest at night. LOL

I agree with this Marilyn. I have most of the people I grew up with on my facebook. Most of them I don't talk to at all, some of them I never really talked to back then either! But I really like being able to see what everyone has been up to lately... so many are married and have children! I love seeing their kids and how much they look like their parents did when we were all kids! If it weren't for facebook, I would probably have lost touch with 90% of the people I used to know.

Tiramisu 09-30-2009 12:26 PM

It's my quick way to checkup on you guys. I usually check FB (on my IPhone) while I'm outside with the doggies every morning. Then, I check 4WT when I get to work or get time on weekends.

I have one that posts "It's Monday, a new day!", "I'm running errands.", "I'm going out to eat." She rarely posts on other threads and others rarely post on hers. It's almost like she uses FB to keep track of herself and YES, the world is supposed to revolve around her.

I was so excited that a high school friend found me last week. We traded a couple quick notes and that's it - 40 years rolled up in a couple sentences.

Gina 09-30-2009 12:43 PM

Yes this CITY GIRL is addicted to Farmville.. Diana how exciting it is to work on a farm lol. I am not great at it, I am just getting the gist of it . I don't know what I am doing, but I am learning. I am a little confused maybe you can tell me Sandy, Marilyn since you play I see there is a tab where it sells to buy cash. I clicked on thinking it was a ploy but do people really charge on their credit cards to buy Cash.. That I would never do!!!

FB can get boring I do have found many old childhood friends..

I click "Hide" for those people cuz like you, I don't want to take them off FB since they are family, etc - but neither do I want to read their musings that really don't interest me. It cuts down on the posts, but keeps the things I want to read.

I would never buy cash on Farmville. From what I can tell, the key is to plow as much ground as possible and plant the most profitable crops. I take number of coins the crop will yeild subtract the cost of the seed, and divid by the number of days to mature and find out that number and compare it to other crops. Right now, the seed I have access to that is the most profitable is red peppers. That's why my entire field is planted in red peppers. They all mature at the same time so I know when I need to be on there to harvest. (If I know I'm not going to be available at the right time to harvest, I'll plant something else that matures in 3 or 4 days or whenever I can be on next.)

Also you need lots of neighbors. Right now, I can't expand my farm because I only have 11 neighbors, and I need 13 to be able to buy more land with coins. I can buy more land with FV dollars, but I don't have enough yet. I've invited everyone I can think of to be my neighbor, but have received no responses beyond my current 11.

I just keep planting and farming and harvesting as much as possible, including my trees and animals and hoarding the coins and FV dollars so I can expand and buy the things for my farm. By the way, gifts are much appreciated and I try to give more than I get.

Another way to get more coins is to visit your neighbors farms, and if they have crows or weeds, help them out. When someone gets a ribbon, and you see it on your home page, there is a link on the notice to share the prize, and if you click that, you can get coins.

Gina, I hope this helps you some, and I hope I haven't told you a lot of stuff you already new. To me, it's a fun game, though addictive. I'm advancing pretty quickly and enjoying the challenge. I just wish I knew what the harvest will be from the elephants. It had better not be ivory!!!

Clicking "hide" is what I did to my cousin. So far, he's the only one I've done this too. It sure made FB more fun when he was gone. I'm going to start skipping some of the FV notices. I'm afraid by posting them they may be showing up on some of your home pages, and sure don't want to post so much on there that some of you "hide" me to get the notices off your page. :o

Janet 10-01-2009 06:07 AM

I play the other games and the notices end up on the walls. I stopped posting those and hit the skip button. Once you hide someone...how do you get them back? I've got a couple hid but wanted to bring them back for a bit, but don't know how.

You all really have it bad for Farmville, but at least you're having fun.

Marilyn, you hardly post!! Why would we "hide" you? You're funny!!!

I didn't realize that there was a "hide" button. Where is it at?

gja1000 10-02-2009 04:20 PM

Diana, just move your cursor to the right of the post where there is only white space - suddenly a "hide" button will appear.

Janet! I don't know how to "unhide" someone. I haven't tried to do that. I'm sure there is a way, but I don't know how.

gja1000 10-02-2009 04:32 PM

OK, I found out how to unhide friends by using the help function.

At the bottom of your home page there is an "edit options" button. Click this and you can unhide your friends. I don't have any I want to unhide at this time, but maybe someday....... :)

Gina 10-02-2009 06:04 PM

Thanks Marilyn! You gave me a lot of helpful hints I didn't know about. :)

judy 10-03-2009 07:12 AM

Whenever I do get to FB, I always feel bad that I don't follow you guys on there.
Everybody else, I just get to when I feel like it. I have loved getting in touch with family and old friends there, but it's got way too much stuff going on. The pages are filled with info, and where to go to find people, etc. I don't like that kind of mental stimulation any more. My brain requires quiet, and not having to multitask.
Sometimes, not even thinking at all is good, and decision making is ridiculously hard!

Janet 10-03-2009 10:04 AM

Thank you so much Gayle...I don't want to unhide anyone yet either....LOL.

Judy...you are so funny! I really do like FB alot. Quick and easy to catch up.

Today it's been really weird on there. Usually I can go back to older posts and there are also a few that I hid that are showing up. FB still has a lot of glitches and you'd think as fast as it has grown...they'd get things fixed.

judy 10-07-2009 01:33 PM

Sandy,

The fb scam was on the news yesterday! It's huge, all over fb, emails, etc., and a lot of people are falling for it.

I am so glad I took that scammer for a bit of a ride, and even gladder that nobody you know got taken.

All's well that ends well!

The FBI is involved. I think it's about time the government got involved in scams.

gja1000 10-11-2009 07:55 AM

Is anyone having trouble with FB today? When I click on it - even though I have it set to remember my password and log me in automatically, it asks for my password and then won't log me in - it's just in a password loop???

Janet 10-11-2009 09:51 AM

It's like that with me alot. Sometimes it wants me to login again, sometimes it doesn't. Other times it comes up with a can't find the page and I click on it again...it takes me right there. I just think it grew faster than they had anticipated and are having trouble catching up.

Marilyn 10-11-2009 11:23 AM

I'm having some trouble with it, too and with FarmVille. Probably just too many people on there. The weather is cooler so more people are at home online than they were during the summer. FB has gotten so huge. A lot of people I know from work and everywhere are on there now.

DianaB 10-11-2009 12:47 PM

Everytime I go onto FB I have to log in. I thought that everyone was having to do that now. I know that there are times that it doesn't work too good, but that's alright. I'd still rather be on here!!!
