We have more rain today. In fact, it's lightly raining now. I'm tired of it especially since we've gotten enough for the moment. I'm ready for sunshine and warm weather.
We put some stuff in our pond to make it clear and nice and blue. I've really been enjoying swimming and with this rain, no sunshine, and the cooler weather I'm afraid that the water will be too cold to swim in after this. Have I mentioned that I absolutely love to swim? |
Okay, what percent humidity do you have? Ours is predicted to be 98% today, and that's about typical. A few days ago, it got down to 50%. It was sooo hot that day. At 98% my skin feels fine. When we get lower, I feel like I'm drying up like a raisin or something. When we go to Colorado in the winter, my skin cracks (literally), my nose bleeds, my lips crack from the dryness. My family doesn't seem to be bothered by the dryness as much as I am, not quite true, hubby does have problems here in the winter with dry skin on his legs and feet.
I just looked up Baltimore 86%, Topeka, KS 92%, Indianapolis 90%. Y'all look about right to me. Seriously, I'm not making fun or anything. We do have to you some pretty serious no frizz products and hair spray to keep our hair under control. The young ladies just twist it up in a hair tie and let it go. |
Our humidity is at 37% on one place that I looked and here's yours for today. (Personally I do think that it's higher than than because everything's wet.).....
http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick...ield2=-96.9829 Here's something that shows everyone's humidity........ http://www.wunderground.com/US/Region/US/Humidity.html The high humidities were probably because of the rain. We're not usually that high. Colorado does have lower humidity in the winter and I have trouble with cracked lips and dry skin when I'm out there too. |
It was much lower today with some wind...really quite comfortable. Saturday our high is in the low 70's....hope the humidity is low too.

That US Humidity map is very interesting. I thought the humidity was higher in coastal regions, and did not realize that it was that humid in the eastern US, far from the coast. Very interesting and educational. Thank you for posting, Diana.
Wunderground is one of my favorite sites for watching the tropical (hurricane) weather. I tried to go to it a couple of days ago and couldn't. Don't know if the site was temporarily down or what. I thought they had shut down. Glad to see it still works!! |
Today is such a beautiful day. Sun shining, a wonderful cool breeze....wish it could stay this way all the time. I have all the windows open and it's so relaxing.
|
I know. That's the way we are too. It's like the calm after the storm!!!
|
Isn't it great? I'm just sitting in the recliner near the front door and this lovely breeze just feels so good.
|
Still hot here. Probably won't be able to open the doors and windows until October.

We have had rain for the past couple of days. Last night we lost electricity, so I slept until 11:30 this morning!!! I couldn't make coffee, so I figured I might as well nap.
The lights were back on when I woke up, but I don't know how to get my hot water heater back on, so I have no hot water. I'll have to find out because it is really humid and sticky, and I would love a shower! My grandchildren were supposed to sleep over, but I pushed it up until tomorrow night. I think Monday is going to be cloudy, but not rainy, so we can go to the pool. Mackenzie is coming over tonight to sleep over by herself. I'm excited! I never get to spend alone time with her. |
Another beautiful day here. It rained some this morning, but the rest of the day was so nice. The cooler temps is just what I needed.
Judy....hasn't school started for your grandchildren yet? |
Great weather sites! Thanks, Diana.
Our forecast for today is T-storms, 30% chance of precipitation, 73% humidity, 21 degrees C (???). Just googled it - 70 degrees. However, it really is a beautiful, sunny day. It may rain later, but we will get some sunshine. Up here, 70 degrees is strong sun, and our pool is heated to 82 degrees, so I will be going to the pool. Janet, my grandchildren start school Sept. 9th. We end later in June in the Northeast, so we begin later. |
I've been out in the heat the last two days, and it is soooo draining. I feel so tired. Haven't perspired this much in a very long time. I'm ready for some air conditioning for a while!!!
