It's 95 deg here right now at 5:10 p.m. Tomorrow the low is supposed to be 74 with a high of 98. That's a little lower, but only a degree or two. :(

I've been meaning to download these pictures, evidence of the central Texas drought.

1. my yard (sorry there is a "fog" in the pic), I water once a week
2. the strip between my yard and the neighbors yard (they don't water)
3. my neighbors yard
4. the neighbor across the street

I certainly don't blame anyone for not watering their yard. Water is expensive, and we probably shouldn't be using it to keep our grass green - but there is stark contrast between watered and non-watered yards.

Here's some pictures of Lake Travis - it is down so low it's terrible. We were eating at the Oasis - a restaurant on the side of a hill overlooking the lake.

1. that island is NOT supposed to be there
2. the tree line is where the lake is supposed to be
3. The pretty umbrellas on the deck below us at the Oasis - there are 17 decks at this restaurant. It is HUGE!

Very nice pics, Gayle. Your granddaughters are beautiful!!!

Lake Travis is really low!!! Canyon Lake looked as bad or worse when we were there in late spring. Lake Texana is totally dry on the north side of Hwy 59 at Edna. There is water in the lake, but the north side is very shallow so the water has completely receded.

You can tell by your pics that an inch or two is literally a drop in the bucket. We need many inches to get back where it would be nice to be.

Enjoyed the pictures, aside from the drought effects. You're girls are so beautiful.

I'm so sorry that things are as dry as they are in Texas. The lake is really low! You can sure see a difference in what a little water can do on your lawn in your neighborhood too!! I hope that you start getting the rain that you need soon. I really hate to hear about losing the trees from the drought too.

Your granddaughters are just as cute as can be!!! Isn't it fun being a grandma?!!
