Great to hear, Debbie. Last night I met two women I'd been hearing about for months - one fighting ovarian and the other breast cancer. One of them is not far from you in treatment. She not only had on a purple cap, but she had tied the prettiest scarf around it for Christmas cheer. She was so much a part of the party, it was great to be around her. Thanks for sharing some of your struggles here, I felt more able to ask the right questions and cheer her on because of it.

Tink 12-02-2007 08:00 PM

I made it to the party today and took Joel, Shannon and Katie with me.
We got to go in a hot tub, a pool, and had a nice supper together.
Paige was thrilled to get her stable and corral from her Papa and I.
Her Mamas bday is in 5 days, so I also took her gift along. My brother and his dw also have birthdays in the next week so I got to deliver their gifts to them as well.

We all had a nice time. The roads weren't great, but I only slid around one time and have to admit that was the fault of my lead foot. lol

Greg had to leave for Kansas City, so didn't get to go with us, but he called and wished Paige a happy birthday so she understood.

I'm glad to be back home. But very glad we were able to go

Janet, I'm mid-way between Lacrosse and Eau Claire WI just 1/2 mile off of Hwy 53.
Our little village is too small to be found on most maps. :) The nearest town is Whitehall... which is the county seat and has about 1600 people.

DianaB 12-02-2007 08:49 PM

Tink, I'm glad that you "weathered" the storm so well. I was worried about you when I looked at the weather map. It looks like your electricity stayed on!!

Kate, I'm glad that all of your little goodies were a success at your party! It sounds like you had a good time.

Janet 12-03-2007 08:59 AM

Glad everything worked out for you weatherwise Tink. I just saw on this morning news that Maine is expected to get 20 inches of snow....I would pack up and head south for sure!

My positive for the day is my son told me he'd be careful before I had a chance to say anything to him..lol He's learning.

Janet 12-05-2007 09:25 AM

Positive for today is my son is okay after sliding his car into a ditch.

Hopefully he's also learned from this experience.

DianaB 12-05-2007 09:45 AM

My positive for today is that I got my Christmas tree up yesterday!!!! Yeah!!!!

rivermom 12-05-2007 10:10 AM

Don't forget to post pics Diana of your tree. :) I won't be getting to ours until this weekend. Id do it now being I dont have much going on today but I need hubby's help getting stuff from the attic. Plus...I for the life of me can't figure out where it's going to fit in our living room this year. My oh my!!

Oh, and the positive for today? Hmmmm don't have one yet but later today I might. :D

I'll get some pictures later for you. I still have some decorating to do. With Reuger being sick I haven't gotten much else done but take care of him. We had a "slave auction" at church with our youth group and Jaci is bringing home the girl that I paid for to help put up decorations. Hopefully we'll get a lot done.

Slave auction? That sounds pretty darn interesting. I sure wish I could have been in on that auction as id love to have help w/ all this decorating.

I sure hope Reuger gets to feeling better real soon.

judy 12-05-2007 03:53 PM

Tink - I'm so glad you made it to the party. It sounds like you could have some family fun while you're all snowed in there. As long as everyone is okay and safe....

Janet - Thank goodness he's okay! His first accident? It's so scary when they get their own cars. When Jessie got hers, I had a long talk with my guardian angels and gave it over to God.

Tink 12-06-2007 08:21 AM

I spent most of the afternoon yesterday wrapping Christmas gifts. Thank goodness I got them all done. That's a job I do not enjoy, so am glad to have behind me.

I have one more gift to buy then am done with that too. Unless something else comes up between now and then, which it usually seems to! lol

rivermom 12-06-2007 10:52 AM

My positive for the day...... I found my Christmas spirit! :)

Tink 12-06-2007 11:13 AM

AngieDoogles 12-06-2007 12:13 PM

Another positive today!
Long story short, dh covered most of our totes full of Christmas decorations last spring with a huge stack of wood flooring, so we haven't been able to get at them.
So I stopped in town today determined to find something to put on our tree. Dollar General had boxes upon boxes of 4" ceramic head dolls and angels at half price, blue and white gingham 2" wide ribbon and packages of 1" silver bells, so I'm going to have a very different decor this year but I think it'll be as fun as it is unique!

I'll post photos when it's done.

So right after I got home with all these goodies, Joel goes out and digs more, and brings in 4 large totes of decorations! It's going to look like Christmas here after all!

Super!! Your tree is going to beautiful Tink!! :p Looking forward to seeing your pictures. :)

Forgivenmom5 12-07-2007 03:12 AM

It's Friday!!!!

Janet 12-07-2007 07:04 AM

Hey Debbie....that's exactly what I came here to post!!

YAY!!!!!! IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!

Forgivenmom5 12-08-2007 05:07 AM

I feel well today so maybe I can get my Christmas shopping done. I have also taken on completely re-doing my little girls room for her birthday and I have already gotten some of the old furniture out of there this morning. Looks like a good day!

Tink 12-08-2007 09:29 AM

I'm glad you're having a good day today!
Don't wear yourself out, but have fun!

judy 12-09-2007 10:01 AM

Debby - I'm glad you're having good days. That's a real positive.

My positive for today is that I feel really content. I got a lot decided and taken care of last week, I'm probably going to finish up my Christmas shopping today and tomorrow, I cleaned out my desktop computer last week and transferred whatever I want to keep into my laptop.

Now I can start really looking for that condo, and start getting rid of things. I'll worry about packing when I know where, when, etc.

I'm also driving Jessie up from her doctor in the city on Tuesday and will stay overnight. I was going to stay for 2 days, but don't want to rock the boat.

Janet 12-09-2007 10:05 AM

I'm having a hard time thinking of a positive...no wait...my son got home safely last night after the ball game. We all woke up safe and sound.

Glad to hear you're feeling so well Debbie. Have fun redoing you daughters room. I need to redo my whole house...LOL

Tink 12-09-2007 11:36 AM

We went to dh's company Christmas party last night at a Casino. We rented a room and stayed over since it was a couple hrs from home.

At the party I won a $450 GPS system as a door prize.
After, in the Casino I turned $50 into $127.
On the way home today we stopped to finish up my Christmas shopping and I got my oldest dd and her dh a digital photo frame. They have a really good digi camera and 2 adorable kids, so I think it's something they'll enjoy. Best of all I was able to find a good brand name one at a great price. :D I was leery of buying an off-brand one but couldn't afford to spend any more than I did.

So it's been a very satisfying past 24 hrs.

Oh and I also have a family coming in a couple hrs to look at puppies who seem very nice! So my fingers are crossed!

What a great 24 hours!! How fun!! :coolsmiley:

rivermom 12-09-2007 12:39 PM

My positive for today is it's been a pretty simple day. I've got chicken & dumplings cooking on the stove and hubby and I are just hanging out.

Tink 12-10-2007 03:10 PM

OMG... I'm almost afraid to say it... don't want to jinx it... but MAYBE... just possibly...
ALL the kids are moving out!

Josh and Katie are supposed to go tomorrow to make their choice between 2 different apartments in town owned by the same man. They're a couple blocks apart and the exact same price.
Joel and Shannon have decided they want the one Josh and Katie don't take!
One is available now... the other will be in a week.
**faint**

Doug has hardly been here for the past week because he's gotten back with his ex so he's been staying with her and their son! He just needs to come take his STUFF out of here.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooo

In a week or 2 I could finally have my house back.

As soon as their stuff is out the door I'm getting rid of all the extra beds, am moving the freezer and storage shelves into Joels' room to empty out the excess from the rest of the house. I'm putting my computer desk and a table in Katies' room for my sewing machine and crafts.
Then Moses and I will dance till we drop and make sure the door is locked to any incoming overnighters. LOL

That's great!!! What a Christmas present!!!!

judy 12-10-2007 04:04 PM

WAHOO!!!

Tink, it's like magic. I'm so happy for you. Merry Christmas, and am even happier New Year without the crowd around!

Please take a video of you and Moses dancing....

Janet 12-10-2007 04:20 PM

Tink you just crack me up!!!...LOLOL I sure hope everything goes your way...sounds like you may have the best Christmas yet!!

AngieDoogles 12-10-2007 08:52 PM

My positive right now is that I'm drinking an IBC Cherry Limeade. Don't laugh. :p Yes, I really truly enjoy them. I drink them slowly so that I can savor the taste. lol

Okay, just thought I'd share my tiny little momentary positive. I love enjoying the small things in life. :)

Woooooooooohooooooooo Debbie!
Way to go lady! So the worst is over and you've proven you had the stamina to keep getting up and beating it. I can see where your girls get their strength.

Janet 12-11-2007 03:41 PM

We know you're not going to feel too good today or tomorrow, so stay strong and know we love you lots. You're done with the hard stuff now...you're such a brave, strong woman and Tinks right, now we know where your girls get theirs.

Tink 12-12-2007 02:08 PM

My positive for today is that I have the house to myself for a change, just had a call from a very nice middle aged woman inquiring about buying a pup, and we're not forecast to have any measurable snow for at least a week!
