Janet 12-12-2007 02:42 PM

I've been kind of bummed today...so my positive is I'm beginning to feel better. Holidays always do this to me.

AngieDoogles 12-13-2007 07:21 AM

Janet, I'm so glad you are starting to feel better! How are you feeling today?

My positive is that my last exam is at 1:20 today and then I'm done for the semester! :)

DianaB 12-13-2007 10:22 AM

My postive for today is that Angie's going to be done with this semester and, hopefully, will be on here a little more!!!! Yay!!!!!!

Also, my positive lately is that my daughter, Dae Lynn, has FINALLY found a really nice guy to date. He treats her so special (opening doors, sending a dozen roses, warming the car for her) that I liked him even before I met him. I'm so excited to see how things are going to turn out with this one because I have a feeling that this will be THE ONE!!!! BTW--He's a Christian too!!!

Wow Diana, how exciting!! I can't imagine how happy it must make a mother to see her daughter in love with a NICE guy! (They seem few and far between sometimes.) I am just SO happy for both of you...and him too. I'm sure your daughter is a wonderful person. That kind of thing is passed on from parents. :) He is lucky to have her!

Tink 12-13-2007 01:42 PM

Diana, That's wonderful! I hope it goes as well as you expect it to.

My positive for today is that Katie is packing and will start to move tonight! She and Josh got an apartment about 3 miles away, so she's excited and eager to get there!

Luckily between the 2 of them they pretty much have enough collected to furnish a place other than a dining room table which shouldn't be too hard to come by. I'm hoping the place is as nice as it sounds! It's one block from downtown, right on Main St so should be convenient. It actually sits between 3 churches, (Lutheran across the street, Methodist down the street and Baptist right behind them) so shouldn't be terribly loud. LOL

Janet 12-13-2007 03:54 PM

My positive today....my thoughtful son called me from work this evening to see if I needed him to bring home anything. Gosh, I love him!!!

Angie, I'm glad you're done with your finals.

Diana, how exciting for you to already like the guy...lol He sounds very considerate and nowadays...that's almost a lost trait.

AngieDoogles 12-20-2007 09:07 AM

Marty and Maddie have been super cuddly today. I love my babies!!

Oh, and I finally got what I was trying to find for Brendon for Christmas! YAY!

Janet 12-20-2007 02:30 PM

Today is my son's 17th birthday. I am so happy to be his mother and have really enjoyed going back in time with memories. Now I'm looking forward to a great future.

Thank you Sheryl...he had to work tonight, but he didn't mind at all. He's having such a great day today. I'm just really happy for him.

Aww, Happy birthday to your son Janet! I have always enjoyed hearing you talk about him. Your words are just flowing with love for him and I'm sure he is the luckiest guy in the world to have YOU as a mom! :)

judy 12-20-2007 04:35 PM

Rick is such a wonderful kid! Happy Birthday to you Rick.

Janet 12-20-2007 04:43 PM

We can see that in the way you talk about him. We know how important he is to you! He seems like a great son!!!!! You're a very blessed mother!!!!

Janet 12-21-2007 07:40 AM

Amen!

Forgivenmom5 12-22-2007 05:31 AM

Sorry I missed Rick's birthday. Hope he had a great one. He is a very caring young man. I think you are lucky to have him as a son and he is very lucky to have you as his mom.

Janet 12-22-2007 11:56 AM

Thanks everyone. But I can tell how proud you all are of your kids too. I think we've all done a heck of a job. Being a mother is one of the hardest jobs there is. but it can also be the most rewarding.

AngieDoogles 12-26-2007 09:22 AM

My family and I had a pretty awesome Christmas! :)

Keep the positives coming! I love reading about all the good things going on in your lives.

DianaB 12-26-2007 09:44 AM

We had a really good Christmas too. A little crazy, but nice!

That's great Diana! Christmas is always a little crazy for us because our family is so big, but it's definitely fun and well worth it!

I do. You know that most people have a nice dinner and sit QUIETLY around visiting while the kids play and then QUIETLY open presents................That's NOT us!!!! At least it didn't end with us being talked into a slumber party like at Thanksgiving!!!!! The kids are still calling me Miss Hannigan!!!!

Janet 12-26-2007 12:29 PM

My positive is we had a nice Christmas with the 3 of us and my Mom at my house. It was so much fun watching my son open his presents...he was so shocked to find a Wii under the tree.

AngieDoogles 12-27-2007 05:42 PM

Today's Positive: We're taking my older brother Randy (who has cerebral palsy) to the movies tomorrow as part of his Christmas gift. We gave him a "movie theater" basket filled with movie candy, popcorn, IBC Rootbeer, and a $25 gift card to the theater. He just loved it! We're going to see Alvin and the Chipmunks and I'm really excited because I know he's going to have so much fun!

You are such a sweet and thoughtful sister!!!! You really put a lot of thought into getting your brother gift that he would really enjoy!!!!

Tink 12-28-2007 12:06 PM

My tribe went to see the Chipmunk movie and said it's just adorable!

My positive is that it's only 4 more days till the boys are supposed to be moved out. LOL

Janet 12-28-2007 12:40 PM

Angie, what a great sister you are. That is a very thoughtful gift.

My positive for today is I cleaned up the computer/dog room. It kind of got away from me a little bit, but not any longer...Yay!!!

The "movie night" with Randy was awesome! He had a really great time and his laughter just made my day!

I recommend Alvin and the Chipmunks to anyone with children (or even if you just feel like seeing a cute movie). It was very entertaining and adorable. There was one point when Bren and I just looked at each other and said "That's Marty" because of something one of the chipmunks did that reminded us of him. It was adorable! :)

I've heard that it's a really cute movie! I'm glad that you had such a good time with your brother.

Janet 12-29-2007 04:21 PM

I'm glad you all had a great time at the movies. I love seeing things on the 'big screen.' We were talking about the chipmunks right before Christmas...usually we hear chimpmunk Christmas songs, but didn't hear any this year.

I had chemo yesterday and so far I feel fine on this lighter one. High on steroids right now so that helps I guess. I felt a little bad yesterday but I guess that was because I was at the hospital and the doctors office from 7:40 till 3:15 ant then at the pharmacy for 30 min. I only had a small breakfast at the hospital. Traci had called the doctor and left a message to call if I needed her to come and get me. Ang and Brendon took the kids to walmart to spend the christmas money and got my groceries so I didn't have to get out. I have wonderful kids.

Glad you are not feeling too bad on this treatment. And yes, you have great kids!

I'm glad that things are better for you this time too. That was a really long time to be without food, maybe next time you need to pack a little something with you. It sounds like your kids are really taking care of you. You DO have wonderful kids!

Janet 01-03-2008 07:13 AM

Debbie I am so happy that these treatments are not as bad as the last ones. I agree with Diana though, maybe pack something to take with you next time. That is a long time to go without food.

My positive.......this is the 2nd day in a row that I've walked on the treadmill and lifted some weights. One day at a time.....

This is my positive too! I was so happy that Mom is having an easier time with this combination. :)

Tink 01-05-2008 05:52 AM

Yeah Debbie! I'm so glad you're not feeling as sick from this new chemo.
I have to agree your kids are very special and I'm sure they love you very much.

Janet 01-05-2008 05:53 AM

Debbie, I don't remember if you posted or not, but how often do you have to have the treatments you are taking now?

judy 01-05-2008 06:14 AM

I'm so happy for you Debbie that you're done with the "big" chemos.

You're in my heart.
