Applying for Jobs!
 

Please keep your fingers crossed that one of the many places I've applied to will call me. I need to go full time and make more money. I'm really hoping for one especially so please keep them crossed for me.

I prayed for you, Janet. I know how much you need to change your circumstances, and it would be great to do it with a job you really loved:)

Haven't heard anything yet, but I'm not discouraged. I know it takes time to go through resumes and applications and then decide when and who they want to speak with. Patience is not something I've been blessed with so it's a challenge for me.

Wish you lived closer to me there are 2 jobs at my work that are open. :(

That would be nice Linda. I have applied at the courthouse here and even though that's the one I really want, I doubt if I'll get it.

Did you call and ask them if they have decided on who gets the position? Ask......

I did call, but they just say that they haven't had a chance to go through the applications. It's all just a waiting game and then when and if they find out how old I am, they'll hire someone younger. I'm going to also apply to sub in the school cafeteria and take more trips. Hopefully I'll be able to stick some money back until I can find something else full time.

That sounds like a good idea Janet! I think you just have to have patience until the right job comes along.

I called about the one at the courthouse and it's been filled I guess. I didn't really think I would get it since it's a county job. I was fired from a county job ten years ago, but have no idea why. They wouldn't tell me. All my reviews were excellent so I have no idea why.

I'm not discourage though...I still have applications and resumes out there and I can take more bus trips and put my name in as a sub at the school cafeterias. So..I'll be able to make some extra until a full time position comes my way.

I think that you're thinking smart. It will work out.

Yes Janet, It may take some time. But it will happen. Gary was unemployed for 2 1/2 years. Even though he his out of state and in Wisconsin it was a good move for him. Really boosted his confidence. Thank ful for that. Just wish it were closer to home. But you take what you can get at the time. He will be there a year next month. So will keep you in my prayers.

Linda since you've worked at the courthouse here.....I put in my application at the clerks office for a file clerk position. Should I put it in at the other offices or is it put in a pool of sorts?

Janet, No it's not in a pool. Each office keeps their own apps. So it wouldn't hurt to go to the other offices. Try the County Assessor and the Auditors office. If you
need a reference put me down. Not that that will get you any where. Not many people left there from when I was there 10 years ago. lol Good Luck.
