Prayers for my Nephew
 

My Nephew James, (My brothers son) Had a nasty wreck last Saturday night, Sunday Morning. He is at IU Hospital by Lafayette. He has a severe head injury. They are keeping him sedated. He has some swelling of the Brain so they are watching him 24-7. They had a drain tube in his head. He has alot of hairline fractures in his face and skull. They had to do alot of stitching on the left side of his face. He is only 23.
Not a big young man either. Tall 5'11" maybe but about 120 to 140 lbs. If that.
My brother has been keeping me posted as tohow he is doing every day. His name is James. Thanks so much.

I've been following on the FB page dedicated to James for updates. He's in my prayers. There were a few time him and Jeri Ann rode my bus way back when I first started and Ricky knows James. Praying he heals completely.

Oh Linda, I am so sorry! It sounds like a really nasty accident. He is young and strong, that will help in his recovery.

My thoughts are with your nephew and family.

Linda, I'll be praying too. I hadn't seen this on FB so I'm glad that you posted it here. Keep us posted on how James is doing.

Thanks Girls. My brother txt me this morning. Said he had a good night until they came in and changed his sheets at 5 this morning. then his brain started swelling again. So they took him back down for another cat scan. Have not heard any more this evening yet. Will call here my brother here in a bit. Thanks again for all your prayers.

Linda, I haven't seem much updates on the FB page for James. How is he doing? It said they were going to wake him up, but his brain started swelling again so they were going to wait another day. Ricky keeps asking about him too. He's in our prayers.

Talked to my brother. they are going to try and wake him up maybe as soon as tomorrow. Goes in for another cat scan tomorrow. He still is draining fluid off his
brain. He is so skinny and starting to get bed sores. He also has pneumonia (sp) in the lower part of his left lung. He squeezes hands and makes faces. Don't Know how that happens if he is in drug induced coma. Anything is possible with God. As I learn more will post. Thank you..

Still praying. I hope and pray that all goes well when they wake him up.

Saw this on Facebook this morning about James.....

Here is the lastest update. James cat scan showed more brain swelling so they are NOT taking away his meds to give him a chance to wake up. They are going to take another cat scan on Wednesday and go from there.

Just got an update. He was having seizures last night. If you want to check on his status on facebook his site is Prayers for James Watkins. They will be doing an eeg today. Praying he starts moving forward soon My heart goes out to my brother and his family. Thanks everyone.

Doesn't sound very good for James at this point does it Linda. Jane Miller told me that they started to take away the meds and he began posturing and shaking so they put him back on the meds. James is one of the nicest, caring young men I have ever met. I have said prayers for him everyday and hopefully God hears them, but of course...his Will be done. I just hope James isn't in any kind of pain that no one knows about.

How hard for the family. I'm praying. Keep us posted.

I'm so sorry for James and for you all. What a terrible accident! I pray he turns the corner toward healing soon.

Thanks everyone. They tried waking him up again today. But he was so cold and shivering they didn't wake him up all the way and medicated him again. Thanks so much for all your prayers and concerns.

So sorry to hear this!! He's young and healthy bodies have an amazing ability to heal even against all odds. Don't give up. There is still hope!! You and he will be in prayers.

Linda, I saw where James seems to be improving!! I am just so thrilled for him and all his family. Anxious for the report that says 'James is awake'.

James' feeding tube was put in around 3 today. He no longer has tubes in his mouth and head which is good.

They have taken away all his meds except for seziers.(sp) Did a trak yesterday and put in a feeding tube. Talking about taking him to a rehab center. He is not awake yet. SO it is just a waiting game now. Thanks for all your prayers.

Linda I think James is surprising everyone so far. Things didn't look very good for awhile and now ....well it's a waiting game, but looking good. Just waiting on him to wake up.

So how are you related to Sara Cline and Jane Miller? Sara cuts my hair.

They moved James to a Rehab place on Friday. He is still not awake. No news today.
Janet. I am not related to Jane or Sara. My brother is married to Tina. Janes daughter and Saras sister. Please don't get me started on that. Thanks :)
