Down to the final day
 

Bella's litter is due tomorrow!
She's really filled out this past week and is very lazy and happy to be in the house.
I've got her whelping area ready, the other dogs are situated outside so she won't be disturbed. (Gypsy is barking non stop begging to be brought back in!)

So now we're down to the line... here's hoping she has them soon so I can go to Chicago this weekend! Today I don't dare leave the house! I'm sure about the time I did she'd climb on the suede couch and start delivering.

I'm SO anxious to see how many she's going to have! You'd think as many litters as I've had in a lifetime I wouldn't get this excited, but I still do. I guess if that ever ends it will be time to quit. ;)

Which one is Bella?

Bella recently turned 2. She's a very pretty black Lab female I got last fall who had been neglected and when she'd been hit by a car had been left untreated to live or die on her own. When we got her, she was a bag of bones and rather shy. She's now round, shiny, overly friendly and doing great.

I hadn't planned to breed her yet, but my daughters fiancee put my stud in the run with Bella when they were moving things into my house so he wouldn't get out accidentally, and this is the result. Who knew I had to tell HIM when my dog was in heat?) :o

I did plan to breed Bella after I was done testing her. I have no doubt she will have very pretty pups since she herself is a great dog. This will be the last litter ever of pups from my stud Moses too... so that makes them special in my mind.

Attachment 3415 This is Bella the day I got her... no shine, no fat, no muscle tone... looking pretty dejected and sad.

Attachment 3416 This is Bella strutting her stuff for Moses. Her muscle definition was back and she's decided she likes her new home!

I'm praying that the puppies come soon!!!!

Her body temp's dropped, which is a good sign; and she's doing a lot of panting and pottying which are also promising! She's clinging to my side like a shadow, so I can really see how restless she is and how she keeps repositioning herself and sighing. She's refusing food as well. So all good normal signs of labor beginning soon.

How exciting Tink! More babies to love. These are very special since they were sired by Moses!

No puppies yet. :(

We've been busy tonight working on dog runs to keep Canada from escaping again.

Tink I hope she delivers soon so you can get everything settled before your trip. I know Angela is looking forward to meeting you.
