My back, what next????

I have a lot of spinal problems and my back is "OUT". I have had to have epidurals in the past so that I could walk, one shot is $2,500. Pray for me to get well so that I don't have to get one again.
Have not figured out what I have spent this year. My health ins. is $550 a mo, $2,500 deductible, then 80/20. Still paying on the cataract surgery, did not get the carpal tunnel done yet. Did not get my new lenses for reading glasses yet.
NOW, my computer is having software issues and that is not under warranty anymore, just spent $500 in Jan. on it.
Been a tough year. We invested all of our money in investment properties, 35 units, tenents can't pay because they lost jobs, etc. My husband is retired, he is 69, maintains all of the units, of course he has 3-6 employees to pay. Always buying appliances, carpet, etc for the units, he pays the majority of their electric and water bills. He also has a 10 acre farm where he buys and sells animals, that market is way down also.
With personal problems also, it is getting to me.:eek::eek:
Thanks for listening to my "WOWS", so many people are so much worse off than myself.

I think we all need to pick a time (so we can do this together), go stand outside in the middle of nowhere and scream till we can't scream no more!!!! I think it would make ME feel better.

Donna, I'm sorry you're having health problems. I do hope things get better for you, until then...how about joining me in a scream??? lol

DianaB 10-15-2008 04:53 PM

I'm sorry that it seems like everything is hitting you at once. When I feel like that I go take a long bath while reading a good book and just forget about everything that's bothering me. Sometimes we just have to forget about what's worrying us and just concentrate on the moment. I'll be praying for you, your health, and your situation.

Matthew 6:34 says (Amplified Bible)

34So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.

Donna, so hoping things get better for you very soon!!! Sounds like you have a lot hitting at once. Diana has given you a very good scripture to hold on to.

Please know you are in our thoughts, and we are here for you!!!

Donna,

Sometimes it just hits you all at once, doesn't it? You'll get through, hopefully without too much of a struggle.

I hope your back gets better soon, without needing a shot.

donna1990 10-16-2008 10:13 AM

Thanks.
Janet I can't go outside and scream, have to many neighbors and they might Baker Act me.
My computer only cost $75, that was good news.

It does seem like when it rains it pours!!! I'm sorry that you are having to deal with so much adversity right now - it just doesn't seem fair!!!

I don't have problems compared to yours.
You are in my prayers.

Donna, I hope your back is feeling better!

donna1990 10-20-2008 04:58 AM

Thank you, it is much better.
How are you doing???

gja1000 10-20-2008 05:23 PM

I'm so glad your back is doing better. I'm not feeling very spunky right now though, sorry to say. If you haven't read my chaos theory post in Vent - do and you will see.

Thankfully, my hubby is feeling a little better and he will be OK, not OK in terms of not having heart failure, but OK in terms of feeling better after his medications are adjusted. Thanks so much for asking.

It's just a really hard time right now for me with all the illness and injury happening in my family, friends and co-workers. I will be OK though, I've learned to take things one day at a time, do what I can, look for joy in the small things, and keep going!

Thanks for asking!

I'm happy to hear that your back is feeling a little better - have you ever tried acupuncture? I swear by it when my back is acting up.

2tiredmom 10-22-2008 05:11 AM

Hope things are better today. I know what you mean when it all dumps on you at once. Some years are worse than others. But there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Just hope it's not a train. lol Chin up I'm thinking about you and praying for you....

So much for THAT. Bent over to get something out of the fridge this morning and it went boo boo again. My legs just tremble and are so weak.
I need to go back to therapy but my ins. limited it to $3,000 a year and it is almost that much a month.

2tiredmom 10-22-2008 11:01 AM

Oh dear, i'm so sorry your back is worse. Try not to over do it. I know how hard
it must be. Your in my prayers.

Donna, you poor thing. I have knee problems, but ya know....I think I'd rather have knee than back problems. Hubby had back surgery in 2007 and before that, he was miserable. Surgery did wonders for him. Has your Dr. mentioned any kind of surgery that may be helpful for you?

My knees don't bend either and they are suppose to support the back.
Your Husband was so lucky, I have not known of good results on back surgery. Mine can be corrected with therapy but my ins. company limited it to $3,000 a year. At this time, we can't afford it. The economy has really hit us.:tongue026::tongue026::cry::cry::cry:

judy 10-22-2008 03:50 PM

I feel for you Donna. My friend had the surgery and it helped a lot. She has the epidurals too, but her insurance covers it.

It's a terrible thing that you can't get the medical care you need. That is so wrong.
I feel ashamed sometimes of our society.

Prayers and hugs.

donna1990 10-23-2008 11:04 AM

Thanks Judy. Our society is really in trouble. You have heard of people being well off but cash poor? We invested all of our money in RE and look at the market now?
I did not sleep last night with pains shooting from my spine down the behind and down my leg, it was awful. Has to be a pinched nerve. I did go from ice to heat today and it has helped a lot.

Gina 10-25-2008 05:38 PM

Awww Donna I hope your feeling better soon. Phycially and mentally. I am sure the stress is making things worse.

donna1990 10-26-2008 10:14 AM

Thanks Gina, I am much better, both ways.
