How long have you been married?

I thought it would be neat to see how long everyone on 4WT has been married. So, how long have YOU been married?

I've been married for 1 year and 2 months. So, I voted for 1-3 years.

Kimberley 10-03-2006 11:12 AM

We've been married for 6 1/2 years...been together for 8 years.

Necee419 10-03-2006 11:12 AM

My husband and I have been together for three years but we officially tied the knot in June. So I guess the answer is 3 months going on 10 years. We feel like we've been together forever.:)

Ponyup 10-03-2006 11:20 AM

My hubby & I just celebrated 4 years in august.

Mandy 10-03-2006 11:28 AM

We just celebrated 15 yrs of wedded bliss, but have been together for 20. I'm lucky because it just keeps getting better! Since we lived 'in sin' for 5 years before we made it official we got all of the BS out of the way early and knew exactly what we were getting into.

So my thoughts for you, Khristine, is that you know what you are getting into and life will be good!

Taurus Babe 10-06-2006 07:34 PM

So, here's a question for all you married ladies....is it true what they say, that the first year is the hardest? Or would you disagree? What are your secrets for a healthy relationship?

Definitely the hardest, but we didn't live together before getting married. In fact until we were married we were long distance & only saw each other on the weekends. We are both loners so living with someone was a system shock for both of us. At about 18 months we hit our stride & it's been pretty good sense.
My best advise is always take your spouses side when it is them against an outside person or thing. The two of you are a team & need to be a united front.

Oh, I DEFINATELY agree with this one. Hubby and I always talk about this, about how we are a team. Sometimes when we are in a silly mood, we'll say to each other, "We make a pretty good team!" :p :p :p

I don't think our first year was the hardest. Things went pretty well up until the 7th year. I think after awhile you have to re-adjust a little bit. Kind of like a new car, after so many miles or years, you have to have a little tune-up....:)

katcarasella 03-28-2008 07:43 PM

I was married for 38 yrs, and I think the first two years were the hardest.

Tink 03-29-2008 10:43 AM

We've been married 22 yrs, together 25. This is my second marriage... the first one lasted 7 yrs.

goofywife 03-30-2008 12:30 PM

We will be 15 years on the 4th of July!

CoyoteQueen 03-30-2008 12:35 PM

I personally have been married 14 years! However 13 of those were with my first hubby and almost 1 now with E. I have been single 21 years!

AngieDoogles 03-30-2008 12:38 PM

It'll be four years in July. I'm loving it! :)

Janet 03-30-2008 02:23 PM

Marriage can be a very wonderful thing...me...LOL....I want to try something else now...LOL

Tink 03-30-2008 02:49 PM

Janet, it can be a miserable thing too. I know that from my first one. It took me over 4 years to decide to try it again... Greg was proposing off and on for 3 of those. LOL
