Credit Cards ????

I was doing some bills and is it me or am i cracking up, i just got my credit card bills in and there due... are they trying to get people with the 15.00 late charge or what.. so glad after next pay i'll be done with credit cards... this is crazy !!!

DianaB 02-18-2009 06:26 AM

My credit card charges $39 for a late fee. I think that I've only paid it once. It seems pretty rediculous to charge that much but they do and they get away with it. I'm glad that you'll have your credit card paid off. I know that you've worked hard to get it done.

HALEY 02-18-2009 07:27 AM

But Diana, don't it seem like the bill just came and and the damn thing is due!!! This is crazy, wow, glad mine only charges 15.00, never had to pay it... Thank God..
Yep girl - next week i'll be cc... free at last... it took me over 2 years, but i did it.....
don't know how long i can keep it up, but will try,, Micah is going to need all new summer clothes and shoes.. so well see, i could wear my same old crap from last year,, don't go anywhere anyways but i take Micah over my sisters to go swimming all summer long, that boy loves the water.......

Janet 02-18-2009 09:42 AM

We just have a little bit on the credit card and it will be paid off next month I think...or the next. We don't use it except for emergencies.

HALEY 02-18-2009 09:46 AM

We had a lot on ours, last year was bad, and the winter bills were high, so i had to put groceries, and Micah's clothes on our cc,, he is growing like a weed, its like i just got him shoes and now there getting to tight again, i have to take him this weekend to get new shoes again :(

I don't have credit cards, but my gas and electric (the only bills that aren't automatically drafted from my bank) come several weeks before they are due. I usually pay them right away anyway because I don't like to wait and risk it. I definitely don't want to pay more than I have to! $15 or $39 seems like a huge amount for a late fee!

Gina 02-18-2009 06:37 PM

I pay my cc bills every mt. on time. I had been late with one, I called and asked them for a first time courtesy and they will honor it.They will remove the late fee charge. This is how they make their money on people with high interests rates and if you miss payments. Crazy!

donna1990 02-19-2009 11:03 AM

When I was having all of my surgery, my bill was late, $39 late fee, called and they credited me. I now pay on line because they email me a reminder. I only have 2, your would think I could have paid more attention.

I got notices about raising the interest rate to about 17%! I have to make sure they're not listed on any of my online shopping accounts because I'm surely never using them.

I pay my credit cards in full, and only use them for convenience. I've been just using my debit card for the past several months. If I can't afford it and buy it anyway, after my bills are paid, it's pasta for dinner.

Of course, in an emergency - they are a great back-up.

There raising mine too, that's why i can't wait till there paid off, Thank God Micah will still fit into some of his summer clothes from last year, just need to get him some outfits for church, socks and shoes, thats all i need...

With spring coming....don't forget the garage sales Haley. You can find wonderful kids clothes (among other things) for little of nothing and most are in great shape.

maybe for me janet, but i can't bring myself to buy used clothes for my son, i'll wait till jcpenneys has there sales and get his clothes there.. i really don't need anything except for some short sleeve work shirts and i can get those at gabs for like 2.00 each, we don't go anywhere anymore, so i'll live this year... i have a bathing suit from last year, i'll be over my sister pool most of this summer so Micah will have fun... and were going to Erie for a couple days in June or July i forget now, we paid for that vacation already booked it last year.. My whole family is going for some kind of festival up there... so that should be nice. we were suppose to go to Florida again, but no one could afford it this year.

THe trick is to buy at the end of the year for the following summer or winter. I use to buy clothes 1 or 2 sizes bigger for my dd so that she could wear them them for the following winter or summer. I use to really get some good buys at Toys R Us, Kohls and Penneys at the end of the year.

donna1990 02-27-2009 09:48 AM

Haley, do you have Khols department stores there?
They have wonderful prices. My Granddaughter that is 14 had to shop at exclusive stores and I told her to go to Khols, she was amazed.

DianaB 02-27-2009 12:34 PM

Haley, where are you at? Get back on here!!!
