The Puppies Are Here!!
 

Gidget and Joey are proud to announce the birth of 2 sons and 1 daughter on March 22, 2009.

It was a very long afternoon and evening. Gidget started to lightly nest around 4 pm on Sunday. The nesting became more vigorous around 5:30 pm, but no contractions. Contractions started about 6 pm, but very light and not close together. At 7:15 pm contractions were much closer, she started pushing hard. When the puppy, still in the sack stayed half out/half in and not wanting to come with my help, I called the Purdue ER and told them we were on our way.

On the way over to the ER, the first little boy was born at 8:05 pm and weighed 5.5 ounces. I called the ER and told them we were not coming and turned around and went back home.

At 8:37 pm the little girl was born and weighed 4.6 ounces. Gidget was very tired of course, gave her some whelping pudding and she gobbled it right down and then took a small nap as the two puppies nursed.

At 9:59 pm the last puppy, a boy was born weighing in at 4.4 ounces. All three are nursing great, Gidget is doing great and you can tell she is happy to have her babies. All are doing great this morning and Gidget ate a small breakfast of pudding and scrambled eggs.

PUPPIES PUPPIES PUPPIES!!!!! YIPPEEEEEEE!!!!!

When I first got up this morning, I went straight to the computer to see about puppies, but my internet wouldn't connect :mad:

So, I couldn't check till I got to work, and then had a zillion emails to go through when I got here (after being gone for a week).

I just now got a chance to look and I see the PUPPIES ARE HERE!!! WHOOO HOOO!!!!!

Congrats!!!!!

Yay!!! :cheer: They're here!!!! But it sure sounds like you had a scare. I'm so glad that she had them naturally and you didn't have to go to the vet. Whew!!! I can't wait for pictures!!!!

I am so happy. How much does Gidget weigh? That is a lot of lbs. she gave birth to.

Gidget weighs exactly 5.0 lbs. Her puppies are always so much bigger at birth than Emilee's and Emilee weighs 6.0 lbs even.

Awwwww!!! They're soooo cute!!!! Give them a little kiss for me!! Too, too cute!!

I am so glad everything went well and you didn't have to go to the ER vet.
Yeah!!!! the babies are so cute. Can't wait to see them playing.

Janet, uh......I mean Grandma, (:D) I need a puppy update!

We all know there is NOTHING better than being a GRANDMA:D Especially to all of those tiny little babies with puppy breath;)

Oh my goodness! Congratulations Grandma Janet!!! They are so cute. How is Gidget doing? It's so good that the little boy got himself out, and you could go back home!

Awwww, they are so sweet. I want to pet their silk coats and let them wiggle their little bobble heads in my face so I can wiff puppy breath when they whimper! :eek:

Thanks everyone....they are doing great. I can't believe they will be a week old tomorrow.

They are 3 weeks old today. I've been wanting to get some pics taken, but for the first couple weeks they don't change too much, just get a bit bigger. I'll try to get some taken today, thanks for asking about them.

They must be sooo sweet. Wish we could all see them in person.

Take pictures anyway. I don't care if they look the same - they're really cute!
