....because I have strep throat. I hardly ever get sick, but when I do:mad: I actually went to the dr this morning because my throat was killing me. Oh well..I'll just have to stay in bed with a good book, my sweet dog, and a glass of tea while Mike waits on me .

I try to make the best out of all situations :sidesplit: ;)

Oh Betsi! I'm so sorry! :( Strep throat is just the pits! Take care of yourself. Oh and milk it for all you can! :D

Oh Betsi....sorry you're sick. I use toget strep throat twice a year...once in November and then again in January or February. Ever since I started getting flu shots, I'm not had strep throat once. It's so painful. Hope you get to feeling better soon. z-paks always work well for me.

Oh no, Betsi!! That's not fun. I had strep once when Feyn was a baby and I had it really bad. Feyn had to stay with my Mom and Grandma because I was so sick and contagious. Take care of yourself and make sure that you don't over do!!

Thanks everybody! My throat is still really sore, so I'm eating lots of sugar free popsicles;) Mike has an appointment with his hematologist in Dallas on Thursday, so I'm determined to be well by then. The dr said I'm not contagious 24 hours after I started my antibiotic.

Betsi, when I use to get strep throat, I would keep wet towels in the freezer and lots of crushed ice. Probably the wrong thing to do, but I was putting the towels around my neck and eating the ice...trying to freeze out the pain I think....lol. I would be doing this at 2 and 3 in the morning. I would hurt sooo bad I didn't sleep.

Hope yours isn't that bad.

I'm glad that Hubby is waiting on you. Maybe you shouldn't try to get well so quickly!!!! LOL

It HAS been hurting that bad..wish I had thought about the ice. My glands are so swollen..
It is beginning to feel better when I take the advil, excedrin, etc. Gargling with salty water 4 times a day is helping, too:)

He IS good about waiting on me, and I'm good about letting him:p I'm sure I won't feel like doing any of the driving to Dallas and back, LOL!!

It sounds like you are getting a little better Betsi. That's great, but I definitely agree with Diana. Make a list of things you might want Mike to do for you in the next few days, in fact. Then, when you do feel really good, you can make it all up to him!

It sounds like a win-win situation to me.

I DO feel better today! I can swallow without gagging, lol!

Mike came back from the store a few minutes ago with a book he surprised me with. He told me it was "National Get Well Betsi Day". He's such a dork, lol!

I'm glad that you're feeling better, Betsi!! If I would have known that it was "National Get Well Betsi Day" I would have celebrated it!!! He's going to have to announce it a lot sooner if he wants us to celebrate it!!

Did the Dr. give you some good meds to help get over it? I hope you're feeling much better. I still have a nagging cough, but it seems to be getting a little bit better.
