Facebook Question
I really enjoy Facebook but I'm really sick of seeing how everyone is doing on Farmville, Farmtown, Fish? and all the others. Does it automatically post the information or do the players have a choice?
The only way to get rid of it that I can think of is to hide them, but I really like reading how they are doing in normal life and if there are any prayer requests. Does anyone know the answer? |
I think there is an option to the right of farmville, farmtown etc. Posts to hide only those type of posts. I did that, or something like that a long time ago and I don't seethose updates any more
|
Thanks...but you still see posts from the person?
YAY!!!!! I just did it....thank you so much Gayle!!! |
I try to only post Farmville posts that help people. Some of them are braging kind of posts, but some of them allow your neighbors to share in your good fortune & get extra coins. Those I try to post to help others out. Thank you for mentioning this though. Will try to be more diligent in the future to only post the ones that help others.
There are lots of other game posts too though, some games with colored balls and things in them. I don't really mind them, just don't know what they are. No time to do the game threads on here, let alone any more on FB. I got on Island Paradise and Farmtown to help others and will have to figure out how not to post celebration things from there. Thanks for posting this. It is probably iritating others as well. |
Marilyn, you can go ahead and post them because we can click on the hide button and not have to view them. We can still read your posts without all the game stuff showing. It's no problem for us.

Thank you, I didn't know about the hide feature for certain games. I was afraid if you hid someone, it was all their posts. This is nice. I have a cousin who keeps posting casino stuff that is really big sometimes. Didn't know I could hide just his casino posts. Nice feature on Facebook!!
|
I like Marilyn post to help everyone out with the bonus stuff. I am sorry!!! lol I too will be more diligent with posting.. Janet you got to join Farmville its soo much fun..
|
Gina, they are blocking Farmville if they don't want to see it, so please keep posting the bonus stuff. We love the extra coins. I have stopped posting the celebration stuff though that doesn't have any bonus's, just in case some of my other friends not on 4WT are getting frustrated as well. I've also blocked the games that I don't want to see, and my page is much less cluttered. :)
P.S. Happy farming!! |
I have so thought about go to Farmville, but I just don't want to be addicted to anything else....LOLOL. My son just started farming and is getting up earlier now just to check his crops. He's so hard to get up sometimes and now I find out ....all it takes is Farmville...lolol.
|
double post, oops!!

It is very addicting!! I have both men and women friends at church who are on there and we huddle and talk about Farmville sometimes after services. Our spouses are all standing around shaking their heads. LOL |
We need to ad Ricky as a neighbor. I'll have to send a friend request if I can find him!!
|
I waited till Ricky got home from work last night and then went to bed. He came in a few minutes later and said "your friend Marilyn sent me a friend/neighbor request." As you can tell, he checked his farm before he did anything else.....lol.
|
Yayayay We got Janet on FarmVille.... ;) Marilyn I got one of the guys in my office addicted to he wakes up early to farm.. lol Btw how is Farmtown ? I am on Yoville to thats fun but not as much as Farmville...

Na.....I get enough of farming in real life......I don't need the pretend stuff!!!! If anyone wants to REALLY farm.....you're more than welcome to come and play!!!!
Glen wants to know, from those of you who play, if you can get your beans cut yet?.....And also, is your combine leaving ruts in the field and what are you doing about that?........And then, are you having trouble finding an elevator that will take your grain or are they storing it on the ground? |

I answer HA !! I don't even pick up a leave.. |
Gina, yes, I fertilized 5 of your squares. When you go to a neighbors farm to help out, it gives you the option of fertilizing their crops. It's one of the new features. Just look for the little thing of super grow at the left end of your friends list and hover over one of their planted squares.
Diana, LOL, we can't even use a combine to harvest in Farmville unless you a willing to use your own real money to do so. They don't allow you enough fuel. You can buy the equipment, but without fuel, it's just decoration. I have a tractor that will plow maybe a quarter to a third of my field before running out of gas and I have to do it by hand (1 square at a time vs. 4 with the tractor). We plant beans and all kinds of stuff. Our equipment leaves no ruts, and there is never a problem selling your crops. It's much better than real life farming. Oh, and you know exactly how much you will make when you plant your crop. If you harvest before it withers, you have a guaranteed income. :D |

I'd like to know the answer to this myself. |
Oh, the MYSTERY BOX question. Well I finally just had to find out, so I bought one. If you look closely beside my barn there is a golden gnome. That and 200XP points is all I got for 15FV dollars.!! You might have noticed my post on FB about it. I really felt ripped off. They make it sound like there is something really special in the mystery box that you can't get anywhere else on FV. So mine contained a golden gnome.
I told our daughter Karen, You know you're a redneck when...... you have a golden gnome by your barn. FV dollars are so hard to come by, and I was saving them for something else. Oh well. They suckered me in. I don't know anyone else who bought one. If one of your neighbors does and it's something else, please let me know. I'm curious, but not enough to buy another, if I could afford it. LOL |
I've gotten a few of the FV dollars, but have no clue how I got them. How are they earned?
|
If I went on Farmville, that would be the end of me ever going outside! It sounds like fun though. Enjoy everybody:D:D:D

You can buy them, by charging to a credit card. No one I know has or ever intends to do this. You can also get them by signing up for different things like a free trial on NetFlix or getting Direct TV. If you click on "add coins & cash" you can find out ways to get more. Most of us are just buying everything with coins and using the FV dollars sparingly. You need lots of friends to be able to expand your farm using coins, but that's what most of us have done. Also, FYI, fuel for equipment either comes free, or you buy with FV dollars. You don't get enough free to do very much. This is why I only have a tractor. With the tractor and the amount of fuel you get in one day, I can only plow about 1/3 of my field. There is no fuel left to use a harvestor or seeder, so I never bought them. Enjoy!!! BTW, your farm is looking very nice!! |
Thanks Marilyn for the info. I wish there was a place with better instructions...lol.
I rearranged my farm today...I'm so weird. I didn't want to play on Farmville, but now I'm hooked. What I would really like is if there was an application where you could buy your land and build a house, paint and decorate it, buy furniture you know..absolutely everything including do landscaping. I would love that. |
LOL, Janet, as fast as they are adding applications, there may be one on there for home construction and decorating. I'd be kinda like Diana is about FarmVille for that one though. All Rex talks about is home construction. He does a lot of his design work at home.
Happy farming!!! I can't go on there and see what you've done until I get home this evening. Can't wait!! |

A few years back, I bought a decorating/landscaping CD package. I still have it, but haven't looked at it lately. You could take real pictures of your house and overlay it with changes. |
I use to have one of those programs Sandy, but I was too dumb to figure it all out. It talked about axis and all kinds of technical terms and I didn't have a glue. I would just like it as a game..similiar to Farmville.
I do have another question....I just bought a dairy barn/farm. Am I suppose to put the cows in there? Do I put the cows in as I get them or wait until I have the 20 and then put them all in there at once? LOLOL.....I really need a life... |

Ya know....I went back and edited that word....and still messed up. I'm so glad you're having a great time!!! LOL:D |
I wish we could figure out how to get those FV points or whatever they are. I'm afraid to use them...lol....because they don't had up very fast. I need to expand my farm and I'd rather use those, than my coins .....I think.
|
Janet, coins are much easier to come by. This is why I needed more neighbors, and why I thought your son may need more. It takes a certain number of neighbors to be able to use coins to expand your farm.
Mine is as big as it can get until they offer more options. Now I need experience points to get to level 34 so I can buy the villa and decorate the way I want to. Problem is I don't have time to be on FV so much, so I'm planting crops now that take longer to mature which slows down the rate at which I can get experience points. Now I'm just taking it slow and steady. Maybe I'll finally get there. |
Be careful on Farmville, getting extra coins. There was a report on the news about a scam involving a $10 monthly cellphone charge that was popping up on people's bills. Something involving extra coins and giving out your cellphone number.
|
Thanks Judy for that tidbit.. I just play with their money. BTW Janet I play another game called Yoville there you can buy a house and decorate your home its fun.. Like I need another game to play. Judy winter is coming come and join us...
There is so much on FV that I am still learning I have a tractor but didnt know that I needed fuel to run it. I see the fuel guage on page have no clue.. Janet your farm is awesome... |
Thanks Gina....I just made it bigger. I would like a home and a barn and a few other odds and ends, but it's going to take some time. I'm on this computer all the time it seems, I don't know if I should check out YoVille or not....LOL.
