Are any of you on Skype? Kat talked me into it yesterday and it is a hoot!!! I was able to be on the computer and just talk and laugh with her. You can just talk or use video....ALL FREE. We could even do group/conference calls.

It only took a minute to download....I kept telling Kat...."I love it" and she kept saying "I knew you would". Here is the link if any of you are interested.

I already have it Janet. My son gave me a camera to go with it last Christmas so I can see the kids and talk at the same time. I haven't used it in forever, lol!

There is Skype on my laptop. I had no idea of what it did until now! Is it like a video call? It does sound like fun!

I "think" I have it - my granddaughter set it up for me (I think). I'll have to poke around and see if I can find it.

Yes Judy...you can make a regular call OR a video call. Kat and I didn't do the video because I wasn't ready and looked like crap....LOLOL

Judy I got a new laptop and I have a web camera to and it says Skype .. now what lol .. Janet what do we do ? I would love to have a conference call and talk to all.

Gina...my laptop came with a camera and mike too. I had to download Skype.

When you get Skype, you can put an avatar and things too. I think most of you have my email address...you can add me as a contact then. If not....let me know and I'll send it.

So has anyone added Skype yet and figured out how to use it?

I use it all of the time! I don't think I would have been able to make it without my kids if it hadn't been for Skype!! I leave mine turned on all of the time and just minimize it. Sometimes when I'm on the computer it rings like a phone, lol! I just click answer then camera and we talk and look at each other. I LOVE it!

I think we should all make sure we have it.

Most computers now have a camera built in, and you can register on skype.com

My granddaughter put it on my computer, I think, but I don't see it now......

Someone told me that Skype is expensive to use. Is there a cost?

Nope, totally free!! I talk to/see my kids in the Philippines every few days, and it costs nothing!

Would be nice to conference with you all. Would love to hear your accents. We don't have an accent down here, of course!! ;)

Marilyn, it's so simple you'll wonder why you haven't done it before. It helps so much to look at your kid when you're talking. My grandkids like to watch my dogs, and sometimes I just walk through the house with my laptop turned around so the kids can see where I'm going, lol! It makes them feel like they're here with me!

I just used my Skype for the first time on the weekend to talk with Scott's sister and the new baby :D I've had it forever but I'm still pretty new to it. Is there a way to talk to multiple people at once? Could we have a conference call sort of chat?
